It was a cold morning. I woke up to the sound of the birds chirping outside. Yawn. I was still tired. I didn't get much sleep last night due to my parents fighting. It really irritated me. My mom always tried to start something with my dad. My dad was the type who didn't stand it. He just went out on her. I do admit, I kinda felt bad for my mom cause she was the one who took in all the screaming. But why should I care? They didn't give a shit about me. They didn't care if I was dead out in the streets. They didn't care if I was hurt or if I was crying. They acted like I was some sort of creature they picked up from the dump. It's whatever though, I was used to feeling like this. I went downstairs and found my mom laying on the couch. She was sleeping. My mom and dad never slept together. They were quite far away from each other in fact. I grabbed some milk and got some cereal pouring it in a bowl. I didn't like milk, but I was hungry. I poured as much as I could making sure it didn't spill. I grabbed a spoon and sat down. I ate like a wild animal. I hadn't eaten for 2 days. Mom never fed me, I was only 14. I can't live all by myself. I needed my parents by my side. When I was done eating I put my bowl in the sink and began washing it. I did all the chores around the house. There wasn't much to do here either. School was over, not much neighbors and we were basically living in the middle of no where. It was a town, but it seemed like a desert. It got pretty hot here too. Last Sunday I remember it being 108 degrees f. As soon as I was done washing the dishes I grabbed a mop and began mopping the kitchen floor. My mom never helped around, she had "work." My dad? He was a careless father. He didn't care if I was bleeding or anything, he'd still make me work. He was a lazy man. He worked some nights. He was a Cashier at a gas station. How boring. I went back to mopping the floor when I heard footsteps. I turned back and saw my mom glaring at me. I gulped. "Carmen?!" The way she said my name... It made me shiver. "Yes, mom?" I replied. She smirked and told me to go do the laundry. I nodded. She stormed off upstairs. I usually wasn't the talking type, I kept to myself. I was a shy one. When I got done mopping the floor I began to do the laundry just like my mom told me. I took all of my mom and dad's clothes and threw them in the washer. I wiped my hands on my shirt and sat down relaxing for a moment. Soon enough I drifted of in a deep sleep.

Hours later I was awoken to the clock chiming. I looked around still half asleep. I checked the living room, no one was there. I wondered where my parents had left. I walked upstairs to my mom's room and I screamed. There was blood on the walls. The furniture was all torn up and clothes were everywhere. It looked like a tornado had gone through this place. I was devastated. What if my mom saw this? She'd kill me. I heard something break from the other room. I hurried over to see what happened. My dad's room was in the same condition. It looked like hell struck it. I went in and looked in the mirror. I screamed... I couldn't believe my eyes. I looked like I was 20. I was much older looking. More mature. My breasts were 3 times larger. I grinned. Wow. I was so confused. Is it possible I had slept through 5-6 years? I shook my head snapping out of it. I walked around examining everything carefully and closely. It was so strange. My head began to hurt. I decided to sit down. I buried my face into my hands closing my eyes for a minute or two. Minutes later I looked up. I had to talk to someone about this. I ran to my room putting on a fresh new t-shirt and some jeans. I quickly combed my hair and slipped on my socks. I put on my shoes and went out the door. It was a rainy day outside. It looked like it was about to rain any second. It was hot. Sort of a sticky feelings. I shivered. I continued walking across town looking for someone to talk to. The whole town was a mess. Buildings were town down, houses were a wreck, and stores were burnt. There were cars upside down everywhere. I gasped. What the fuck happened?! I started to get scared. Fear started growing inside me. I screamed "is anybody there?!" Loud enough I heard myself echo a few times. I frowned. I was about to break down. I missed everybody. I missed my parents. While I was on the search for people I heard footsteps yards away behind me. I stopped. I felt like I was being stalked. I was shaking. I didn't dare to look back. I kept on walking, moving a little faster this time. I felt a hand on my shoulder, I turned around quickly and right when I was about to scream a hand covered my mouth. I knocked out.
