"Did you hit Ariel again, because if you did, I swear-" rang in my eyes as I ran into the woods after hearing Xavier and Elliott fighting inside the house. I didn't know where I was going, I just knew that I needed to get away.

I guess I should probably explain. I remember the day so vividly that I can never forgive Xavier for it. Xavier got mad at me. By mad I don't mean that he simply yelled at me. He punched me.

Xavier was mad after he saw me getting closer to Taylor because he realized that I was much better than he was because he didn't have anyone. Xavier knew that Taylor and Oliver couldn't be there when he started yelling at me or they would leave because they might be scared, so he sent them to the store to get some meaningless things that we didn't really need but would but Xavier some time to take out his anger on me.

I still believe to this day that he never intended to lay a hand on me, but I still haven't looked at him in the same way since. Xavier was always the best brother; he provided for me and he always made sure that nothing held me back from reaching my full potential, even before The Fungus. This was the last thing that just made him snap finally. He just realized that I was doing do much better than him and he didn't like that.

By the Taylor and Oliver got back, Xavier had already concocted a story of how I had fallen down the stairs and gotten a black eye and hurt my shoulder pretty badly. He had even almost convinced himself of the story, so much that he didn't even look remorseful when he saw me.

When the black eye was healed to the point where it was no longer noticeable unless you were actually looking for it, Xavier sent me out to the store for some essentials, and I ran into Elliott, literally. It wasn't really that hard, but he accidentally ran into my still hurt shoulder, and it shot pain through my arm. Elliott was confused and he asked if I fell. I almost nodded, but decided against it at the last moment; I shook my head and tell to the ground, crying.

"Was it Xavier?" he demanded and I nodded my head. I didn't care why that was where he automatically went. He immediately ran to my house and stormed inside. I followed closely behind.

"Did you get the stuff from the store?" Xavier asked, looking at a newspaper from last year. He looked up when I didn't answer, just before Elliott punched him in the jaw. Xavier was surprised and I ran up and held Elliott back before he could hurt Xavier any more. I pulled on his arm and led him outside.

Right before we hit the doorway, he yelled back at Xavier, "If you ever hit her again, I swear I will kill you!"

I stopped running in the middle of the woods and I fell to my knees and put my head in my hands it was too much to take in and I was overwhelmed. I don't remember falling asleep in the woods, but the next thing I knew, I was waking up in the woods the same place that I had stopped. I started toward home, then realized that I was completely lost. I hadn't been watching where I was going when I was trying to get away from everything. I knew that I couldn't just stay in the same place, or I would eventually die.

"Help!" I yelled as loudly as I could, "Xavier? Elliott?" I looked to my right and saw the sun rising. I had a moment of hope when I realized that I could find my way home using the rising sun. The moment was short lived though when I remembered that there were woods on every side of the house and I still was just as lost add I had been.

I was about to walk away the way that I had been fading when I heard something behind me.

"Arial!" I heard behind me; it was Xavier, his voice raspy, presumably from yelling all night for me. I started running towards where I had heard his voice and I soon saw him. He had messy hair and muddy clothes from the woods.

"Xavier!" I called for him and he saw me. He ran up to me and encircled me in his arms. I hugged him back and whispered, "I'm sorry I ran; I should have just talked to you."

Then I saw Elliott running towards us, panting. "I see you found her." He breathed when he saw me. His voice was also raspy from yelling all night.

We started towards the house and made it there within ten minutes. Elliott went to his house when we got to the paved road between the two houses. Once inside the house, Xavier went to sleep in his room and I sat down on the couch in the living room. Luckily, Xavier looked unhurt, what I had hoped would happen. I hadn't gotten a very good look at Elliott, but I hoped that he was the same.

Xavier came down a couple of hours later and sat down next to me. We sat in silence for a couple of minutes until he got up and went to the kitchen. He came back with two bowls of ice cream from the freezer. The fridge, along with a couple of other appliances, is powered by wind turbines that are out I'm the back of the house. They were originally put in for a school that had been there, but Taylor figured out how to reroute them so we could use the power that they have off.

"Can you guys give us a minute?" Xavier asked Taylor and Oliver. They got up from their spots on the recliners and went up the stairs.

Xavier turned to me once they were out of earshot and started, "I want to talk with you. First of all, I didn't lay a hand on your precious bodyguard," I started to protest, but he held his hand up, signaling me to be quiet, "Second of all, why did you ever let him find out? And third of all, how could you run away like that? I was worried sick that you had gotten killed or kidnapped or something."

I took a deep breath and replied, "First, he isn't my boyfriend; we're just friends. Second, I didn't try to let him find out. It was an accident and even if I tried to let him know about it, you would have deserved it all. Your just l lucky that he didn't tell his sister, right? Because that would ruin your chances with her. She would see the monster that you really are. Third, you had just told me that my entire family has been lying to me my whole life! You expected me to not react go that at all? I was right in my previous statement. You are a monster. Mom said to tell me when the time was right. The time want web closer to being right. The time was never right for that kind of thing."

"That's why I told you then!" Xavier defended and all I could do was scoff. He thought that that made it alright. That the time was never going to be right, so he could just drop that bomb on me whenever he felt.

"That doesn't make it right!" I yelled and started to storm off. Xavier thought that I couldn't just get off yelling at him like that and then just leaving, so he grabbed my arm and tried to pull me back.

"Get back here!" He yelled and pulled harder on my arm. I resisted and he kicked me in the back off the knee to get me to stay so he could tell at me. I started to get back up, so he kicked me in the gut to keep me down. Then I got up and ran. I had always been faster than him, and I knew exactly where I was headed.
