Chapter 3:The escape

Chapter 3:

He lifted his foot up and took off Alex's shoe. "Hey! What are you doing?"

"Trust me" replied Artemis, lifting the shoe off the ground. Alex was confused, but decided to go on with his ideas anyway. 

Artemis took the shoe and placed it on the chain, as far away from him as he could.

He then instantaneously shouted "Get down!" leading to an immediate response from Alex as he dived away, knowing what was about to come.

Snap! The sound of the chains snapping, if not, exploding reverberated around the chamber. If Alex and Artemis had not ducked in time, they too would be snapping into pieces.

"What the hell was that?" asked Alex, perplexed.

Artemis replied, calm and collective, as he always was, and replied "It was the goblins. they must have replaced part of your shoe.

It was a different color than it should be and was put on self destruct mode".

"Wait, since when did shoes have self-destruct modes?" asked Alex.

"Since when did Goblins try and kill you with a fireball?" replied Artemis, shrugging a piece of debris off his shoulder.

"Good point"

I think we should get out of here" said Alex, searching for a way out. Wait, I haven't introduced myself- I'm Alex, Alex Rider"

Rider, Artemis thought to himself. He had heard that name before.

"Pleasure to meet you Alex, my name is Artemis Fowl"

"Ok Artemis, do you know how to get out of here?""Yes. There is a door leading out behind you"

Alex swerved around and almost kicked himself. How could he not see that?

"Oh, so there is. I missed that..."

The pair ran outside, away from the compound-away from the prison.

"Where do we go now?" inquired Alex, rejoicing with the cool breeze out the outdoors"

"I think I know just the place...."

okay it took me alot of time to publish this chapter. first i would like to recommend the following book "doctor who the battle of empire" it a great book read it . And read " the tranced serpent of the lost legend" it my second book . so plz comment on how i can imprve and vote if u want to.
