It chased me through the woods; I jumped over logs and dodged fireballs and leaped across pools of muddy water. It's charcoal black eyes bored into my back from a few paces behind. I rolled under a hedgerow and loaded an explosive arrow and fired it, only for it to hit It's hide.

Reality pulled me from the depths of of my dream by a hand violently shaking my shoulder. "Hey, hey girl. Girl! Eviller! (wake up)" There was a random girl yelling right in front of me when I opened my eyes. "Get up! Gosh, you like you've been sedated."

Suddenly I noticed a loud blaring horn, "Is that an alarm?" I jumped up and grabbed my bags as she's starting to ready to bolt up through the door, the nearest exit.

"Yesyeswehavetoleavenow!" The girl is screaming now. She glaces at the duffel bag in my left hand and snatches it out of my hand, leading the way. Well, she seems to know more than I do, I thought.

"Since you seem to never have been in this area before, I'll tell you about it." We've reached the door, that's also apparently stuck tight; I watch and listen as she struggles with it before opening my mouth- then I get cut off.

"Dragons are the most dangerous creatures, unfortunately, they are in great abundance throughout these parts and some sightings are becoming more popular farther South now. Some people saw one, and the alarm went off. Everyone cleared out of the train, even though you're supposed to stay inside. But I saw you were still asleep after the call was sent out." There was shouts coming from outside, but the small windows didn't allow for a very good view of the outside world; and there was no way I was leaving this girl, she actually seemed like she knew what she was doing.

"Yeah, I'm a pretty deep sleeper. Why don't we try the other end?" She looked at me.

"I came through that way, then it got busted-," she continued to pry at the door, "-by a bolder the dragon had touched from the tiny little mountain just North of here," now she took out a switchblade from her belt and tried to cut the lock off.

"Whoa, wait! There's a dragon right outside?" Cool. The alarm got faster and louder, a dull ringing started in my ears. We just shouted louder.

"There was a sighting, so the train stopped. The alarm and the announcer came on. And then the dragon flew over head and people went crazy and got off, which was really stupid, you know? Like, running out in the middle of the the hard, bare, rocky ground is really going to help you stay alive," she sighs, "People these days..."

"I thought the train was heading North-west, staying out of their territory." Her blade wasn't working, I took out my dagger from my boot and handed it to her.

"Thanks. It officially was, but these beasts don't play with boundaries and signs and man-made markings. They do as they wish, and if that's moving farther South, oh well."

"My name's Kayelana. Who-." All the quiet buzzing of voices from outside was dead silent. All I could hear my beating heart and silence, but... what's that sound?

There were two large thumps that shook the train, then a second later another two followed, causing the lights to flicker (along with the alarm to shut off permanently). I swear the ground trembled as a shadow was cast over the train. The girl handed me back my dagger which I put back into my boot and slung the bag over my head and across my chest. A little boy screamed as a woman started sobbing, I could only assume they were standing next to the cart. Only now did I care to walk over to the window and glance out, she did the same; a second after I knew I shouldn't of.

It's massive body was on all fours on the compacted dirt, just as it swiped the little boy with it's claw (which must have been 20 ft long) his mother became hysterical, much like her kid in the moment. Wow, he really isn't dead yet, I thought with dismay. His mother screamed and cried, begged for someone to help and pleading for mercy from the beast. What is she thinking? Running at It like that? It's going get angry... And I saw it did, as she  stumbled forward it eyed her and saw she wanted It's prize. It's frighteningly thick tail swiped at the poor women and she was flung about to the side, dead in an instant. The dragon snarled ferociously as a group of men rushed forward to It in pure hot emotion- it behaved as rotten as to be expected; but the humans behaved even worse, getting angry with it and all and being unarmed. It let out a breath of fire and they all roasted. Charred bones and blackened skin with torched clothes was all was left. All I found I could was stare. It was like when you see something gross or terrifying that you really want to look away, but never can. That was now. Finally, the great beast spread it's leathery wings and took flight; soaring into the Northern skies with the screaming boy in hand. He was never seen again. Unlike his killer.

A hand clamped over my mouth, it was only then I realized I had been screaming, too.
