I walked to my locker.
Kat followed.
"Who is he?" Kat asked looking over at a boy.
"That's Sam." I said.
I closed my locker.
"He's cute." She said leaning on the locker beside me.
He was walking with a girl.
"I guess he is not single." Kat said.
She looked sad.
"Oh no, that's his friend Lily." I said.
Kat had the happiness back in her.
The bell rang.
"Cya later." I said.
I walked to class.
There was this one boy staring at me.
He was new cause this wasn't normal.
Boys always stare at the popular girls.
Never at me.
I was getting freaked out.
Why is he staring at me?
Why do I feel this weird feeling in me?
Why? why?
All these thought ran trough my head.
It was lunch.
The boy started to walk over to me.
"Hey." He said quietly.
"Hi." I said confused.
What the heck?
Why did he come and sit down with me?
This has never ever happened before.
I thought.
He gave me a note and walked off.
I read the note.
Dear Skylar,
I know I'm the new kid in the class, but can you meet me at the dog park after school?
I have something I wanna tell you.
But if you can't I understand.
      -The New Kid, Duke
I looked up from the note.
He was staring at me waiting for the answer.
I nod.
Kat walked over to my little table.
"Hey," Kat said as she sat down.
I looked over her shoulder and saw the popular girls coming to my table.
"Oh no," I said quietly.
"What?" Kat asked as she looked back.
"Just stay quiet, I'll do the talking." I told her.
Kat nod.
The girls finally came to were we were.
A girl came from the back of the group.
"Like hey Skylar, did you pay this girl to sit with you because you don't have any friends?" the girl asked.
Kat looked like she was about to talk but she was holding it in.
"You can't mess with her, she didn't pay me to sit with her, and she is a lot of a better person then all of you put together!" Kat said.
"Oh look the little mouse spoke up for her friend, so sweet! You know what? I was gonna give you an opportunity to be in our friend circle. But now you blew it."
She said.
They walked out of the room.
"Thank you for sticking up for me, even though I told you different." I said.
"No problem, I always ignore peoples requests." She said.
Lunch was over and finally school.
