Chapter 9

The next afternoon while watching Netflix, I am fortunately interrupted with a message from Zachary. I wasn't sure when he would be released, but I'm guessing he is. I have been so worried, I was not exactly aware of what was and is going on. I slide down the notifications panel and go to his message.

Zachary: Hey. I love you.

Zachary: why doesn't she want us together anymore? Kmt

Me: yay you're back!

Me: because we crashed under the influence and almost died

Zachary: so???

Me: what?

Zachary: that doesn't make any sense

Zachary: I want to take a nap

Zachary: I wanna see u

Me: I wanna see u too

Me: but idk we're gonna have to sneak

Me: has ur mom said anything?

Zachary: nah

Zachary: meet me at tutti frutti?

Me: give me 30mins

Zachary: I'll see u

Yay!! I'm finally going to see Zachary!

I jump off my bed before shutting my laptop and taking a quick shower. I put on some simple black leggings, a Cami and my black lined slippers. I throw my hair into a puffy ponytail and have my dad drop me off. He will be coming back in like three hours.

I go and wait in the food court. I take out my phone to see Zachary posted a photo of himself. He is wearing a salmon polo and dark jeans. I like his picture and think of how cute he is. I like the picture then scroll through the comments, and of course, May comments. It reads:

Mayylea: daddy

I role my eyes and go to report and block her, only to find she already has me blocked and I smile to myself. I hadn't blocked her before because I've been busy with my Zachary. Haha.

I have nothing to do so I decide to read a fan fiction until Zachary arrives. Just at that moment he texts me that he's around the corner and my excitement grows.

I put in my earphones and listen to 'Ramping Shop' by Vybz Kartel and Spice- the lyrics are so funny. I am getting into the book when I feel arms wrap around me followed by a kiss on my cheek. I turn my head to see Zachary and he is grinning at me.

"Wanna ride me and give me a heart attack?" He teases.

I burst out laughing and stand up to throw my arms around him and we squeeze each other tightly. He mumbles 'I missed you so much' and I reply the same.

We pull apart and he looks me up and down as he bites his lip, "Sexy as always."

"LOL thanks, same to you," I reply.

"So why'd you wanna meet here?" I ask as I take a seat.

He follows, "Just wanted to see you. Wait why doesn't your mom want us to date again?"

"We were drunk and high and driving," I say and cross my arms.

"Oh right. About that, I'm really sorry. I just...lost it."

"What the hell? How do you just lose it? Did you not hear me telling you to slow down? You laughed!"

"I don't know okay! I just.... I don't know what came over me, it's kinda scary, we could have died too."

"Thank God we didn't," I mutter.

"Yea," he responds, scratching the back of his head.

"Froyo?" I ask.

"Sure, let's go."

We enter Tutti Frutti and I grab myself a medium sized cup. I don't care about him at the moment, just all this frozen yogurt I'm going to destroy. It just occurred to me we could've gotten Häagen Dazs. Maybe later....

I fill up my cup with different chocolate related flavours topped off with oreos and caramel and chocolate syrup. Diabetes in a cup everyone.

I look around to see Zachary coming up to me, a small cup in hand. I subtly try to hide my larger cup, blushing. I think he notices because he laughs and points at me as he comes up behind me in line.

"Leave me alone, I crave things," I jokingly defend myself.

"It's okay, I'm just not that hungry," he assures me.

"It's okay, I can pay," he says.

"No, that's fine. It's just frozen yogurt," I tell him.

Before turning back around, I spot someone walk in. I wonder why she just has to be here at tis exact moment, until I remember why. Zachary's caption. I role my eyes and sigh and he turns to look at what I am upset about.

He tenses and just sighs.

"Just ignore her," he trys to calm me.

She could have at least returned the gesture, but being her, she doesn't.

She walks over to Zachary and I, but mostly Zachary.

"Hey cutie," she says, her boobs sticking out. Mine are too, but hers are intentional.

"Hi, thanks for the compliment but could you leave us alone please?" I respond before Zachary can.

She looks over to me, her face turning red from anger.

"Oh, and he's my daddy-not yours," I say again.

Her hand was about to make contact with mine but I saw it coming, ducked and she hit over the caramel syrup behind me. People turn their heads to look at the scene and think it's some accident before turning around.

"May, stop with this crap please. Just leave us alone dammit!" His voice slightly elevates.

She looks to him and I almost see tears springing in her eyes before she subtly tries to blink them back.

"Whatever! You'll come back to me sooner or later," she says before turning and exiting the store.

"I swear she's so annoying, damn," Zachary mutters under his breath.

"Very," I say, still upset from what just happened.

Why can't she just leave us alone?
