The water stood silent, the music playing in the background and backup lights only shining the pathways to the exits. I already knew that nobody was coming for us and we had to do something instead of just sitting around waiting for a miracle. The music suddenly stopped playing, leaving only the sound of terrified visitors echoing throughout the building.

Everyone grew silent after hearing a loud roaring noise coming from outside. It was the sound of screaming people and people from nearby boats began to jump out into the water in panic. Soon everyone started trying to exit the building not wanting to stay any longer we all just wanted to get out of here.
"What the hell is going on out there?!" I yelled trying to talk over the people.

"I don't know! But whatever it is, it doesn't sound very good.." Cameron replied shouting over the screaming children and parents.

We have to get out of here but all these people cluttering the pathways it's nearly impossible.
"Hey guys I have an idea!" Angela shouted while jumping out of the boat signaling to follow. We all got out trying to keep up with her as she began to climb up to the ceiling using the nearby props.
"Theres a rooftop entrance over here, maybe we can take a better look at the situation once we get up there!" She climbed over the railing and onto some path where people probably walked through to get around from the top. Angela barged through the rooftop door and closed it shut once we all go out.

"Is everyone alright?" Rick looked at everyone to make sure nobody got hurt on the way up. Everyone nodded and we headed to the edge of the building to see the view of the park. What we saw was unbelievable. People were lying on the floor, some running for their lives, children getting separated and people even crying. It didn't look like the "happiest place on earth" anymore, it was more like hell on earth.. but what was causing this to happen?

"Look! Over there!" Cameron exclaimed pointing out a person running at a person and tackling them to the ground. It didn't even seem human..

"What the hell is going on with that person?!" Rick was in shock to see the traumatizing scene. It was what we thought was human, ripping apart an innocent person only leaving behind a lifeless corpse with a pool of blood.

I couldn't watch this any long I had to look away covering my mouth in disgust. Angela came by my side to help me feel better while Rick and Cameron continued to find a way to get to the car before it got out of the theme park. We didn't have much time left, the sun was at its last few beams of light before dark fell.
"We need to get out of here as quickly as possible, we can't just sit here and wait for something to happen. There isn't much time left either. If you have any plans, now would be a really good time to speak up." I put myself back together because it wasn't the time to rest.

Cameron pointed out the employees only side where we could easily get around the amount of people scattering. I found a ladder on the side of the building which led to the staff only area. Seems like today is our lucky day. We got down and began to run as the light was almost gone.
"We gotta keep going! Don't stop for anything!" Cameron was infront as we followed behind. I held on to his hand while Angela held on to mine and Rick to prevent the worst case scenario of separation.
We finally made it to the font of the park where the exit was just ahead. Just when I thought we would make before dark, our luck ran out. There was a dead end leaving the only way to exit was out with all the people and human eating "things." The walls were too tall to climb and there was nothing to grip. We had no choice but to get out there and hope we don't get separated or even worse, one of us gets attacked by the crazy freaks.

"If we end up getting separated somehow, you know how to get to the car." Cameron spoke. We all nodded and prepared to make a run for it. Well, here goes nothing. I took Cameron's hand and held it tightly to ensure i wouldn't let go.

He busted open the door and we all ran through the screaming crowd of people. We bumped and shoved through people and passed by families looking for their kids and visa versa. I felt bad and wished I could help, but I wanted this all to be over already and I didn't stop running with Cameron. As much as i wanted to stop, I was too afraid to be alone and I didn't want to get left behind either.

Just keep running Jennifer, you can do this. It'll be over soon than you know it. I constantly kept thinking in my mind.

I could see the exit ahead of us, but a crazy freak jumped right in front of us snarling, full of blood and looking completely rotted. Cameron stood infront  of me making  sure I wouldn't get attacked. The thing began to run at   him, but I pushed him out of the way and kicked the monster to the ground  to get trampled on by the running  people. It tripped a few people, but I held on to Cameron and pushed on to the exit straight ahead. We hopped over the counter and made a run for  the parking garage.

Of course, there were still a lot of people running but all that mattered  was that we were out of the danger zone and safe for now. Cameron and I finally made it to the car andquickly  hopped inside. Thank god we made it out alive, I just hope Angela and Rick got out safe too. We were catching breath after all that running and I could barely feel my legs anymore. Out of nowhere, Cameron started laughing like he got told a funny joke.

"Why are you laughing? Didn't tell  me you got infected or something by those things..."  I stared at him confused.

"It's just, when you pushed me out of the way back there, I'm not gonna lie, that was pretty badass." He smiled running his hand through his light brown hair.

I looked down and smiled,"I was just trying to save your ass from being killed that's all."

"Thanks, I feel special now and i'm not being sarcastic this time" he jokingly responded.

"This time?? What are you trying to say?" I lightly punched him in the arm. The both of us used to always play around like this, no matter what the situation was.

Suddenly a bloody handprint slammed against Cameron's side window making us both jump. It was Angela and Rick. Thank god they made it out. He unlocked the car and they both got inside.
"Don't ever do that shit aga- what the hell happened to you?" I turned around to see Angela was a bloody mess.

"We ran into a few of those creeps on the way here, it's starting to get worse out there by the hour." Rick responded as Cameron tried driving out of the parking lot as quickly as possible without running over innocent people.

He first drove us to my house and was going to take us to his place because his house is surrounded by a wall and a tall metal gate. We quickly went inside and started packing what was needed the most. I got my stuff and brought a bag of stuff for my dogs. I signaled for them as they came trotting towards me. After greeting them, we finished packing and loaded the things in the car. The two dogs sat with Angela and Rick then started off for Cameron's house.

bzzt bzzt! My phone rang.

Incoming Call From:
Evan!¡!

---
: Evan! Hey did you hear about the Disneyland incident?

E: Yeah I just saw it on the news, I heard you were going there today so I got pretty worried. Is everything alright?

: Not exactly, but I want you to meet me at Cam's house and pack everything you need because you most likely won't be coming back home anytime soon. It's important that you get here ASAP and call me when you arrive.

E: Alright. I'll see you soon then. It was good to know that you're still alive. Talk to you later.

-------

I put my phone back in my pocket as we finally arrived at his house. He secured the gates and made sure everything was locked before we went inside. I set down my bags and fell down on his couch. I felt the weight on my shoulder finally disappear. It was good to be out of that mess until we have to start heading out of town before it gets worse. For now, we all decided to rest and enjoy the last night of living a normal-civilized life. Things weren't going to be the same, not for a long time..
