The smell of a Book?

Hey, Tumblr! Finally, my producer came up with a topic I can talk about on here. My first topic on Tumblr! Yay! Now, by the title we have, you can see it's about reading. Now, to tell ya the truth, my producer and I don't normally have time for reading with other lives getting the way. Him dealing with personal things and me trying to pay off the bills. But, he was noodling through Reddit one day and he was looking for more books to read. Personally, seems like a waste of time cause he's got at least 60 already on his kindle. Oh, and just to introduce myself quickly for Tumblr. I'm Gina Dalg, writer and blogger of different topics. Now, on to the topic at hand. My producer was looking through book Reddit, when he comes across a book topic where the title was: Kindle has ruined me. It was an odd argument about which is better; physical or digital books, ie kindle. As my producer got me to read through the comments, I was extremely puzzled about the arguments. Some were arguing that they like the feel of an actual book and others argue kindle helped them become more interested in reading. What I find the oddest are the people who say they like the smell of a book. Why? Don't they know how odd that smell is? It's not a pleasant smell. In fact, I would argue that it just shows how old the book itself is and needs a new book to be printed in. Some were arguing the "aesthetic" of reading, which I don't understand or barely understand that word. What's aesthetic about it? Isn't the story more important or aesthetic then the book itself? Also, some are arguing their attention spans with kindle are bad. Could it be that the story is bad or boring? My producer is having trouble keeping up with the book he's reading, not because of attention span, but sometimes he's just not in the mood to read; even when in his reading room to keep himself from getting distracted. One person in the comments said this that caught my eye: To me this is as silly as saying you'd prefer a "real" newspaper to reading the news online. It's the same content, so it's hard for me to take the argument seriously. Would you honestly stop reading if digital became the only means of reading? Of course you wouldn't.'. That's from on reddit. Look. Just cause the format is changing, doesn't mean we won't stop reading. Hell, you're reading this! So, you're always reading. I hoped you enjoyed this. I'll try and find another topic. These are getting hard to find, but if you have a topic for me, tumblr, reply to this in the comments.
