Does sex sell?

  Hi! Got another topic today! My producer told me of a term that says sex help makes things easier to sale. Now, I don't know about you, dear reader, but, is that statement kinda false? I mean, think about it. If sex really sold anything, then everything would be easy pickings! I'm looking on a wiki for a lil more info on this, but mostly from what I read is that the most that sex ever sold anything was on cigarettes, soap. jeans, and condoms. I mean, condoms, Of course, it's about sex. No brainier there. But, soap and jeans? Also, do ya really need sex to sell ya clothes? I mean, your gonna need those jeans regardless. And, cig ads are banned now. So, what's left? How about candy? Yeah. Use sex in that! Yeah. Those things will sell easily now that sex is part of it. I mean, it sex sales, right? Just get a hot sexy lady to suck on those tootsie roll pops and have her tell you how many licks it takes to get to the center! But, wait, you say that's sexist and inappropriate for kids? But, you just said sex sales. Does that mean I can't just slap anything with a sexy image? But, then what am I suppose to do with all this candy? You mean, advertise normally about these tasty candies and people will easily flock to the sweet treat? Wow! I would've never thought of that! You see, sex doesn't sell and I would like to think that there're better ways to get your attention. Look at old spice! Sure, both are sexy but that's not what you remember. You remember the zaniness of the ad. First, he's in a room, then, walking outside with a cake, flying into a pool, then suddenly, there's a motorcycle under that water! And, there's the other guy! He gets's your attention just by yelling! Basically, he's "Hey! buy old spice, now! Do it, now! Do it, now!". He's already got your attention! Also, look at TV or youtube! If we needed sex just to get our attention to watch the shows, I think there'd be more porn on tv. And, yes, I know there's RedTube and PornHub, but, you might not see that on youtube. Again, if sex sales, that's all there'd be! It'd be Game of Thrones all over the net! Here's an example: my producer saw a gaming ad with a sexy lady on it. I never saw it cause I didn't care, but he says it was a very boring ad. He says he wanted to see an actual game. But, wait, isn't the sex suppose to be the driving force? I just think the idea behind sex sales is silly and maybe dated. Again, if what it says is true, then just give us porn and see if it actually sales! What do ya'll think? I it true that sex sales?
