After I entered Hallie's world of darkness, I didn't think about what would happen until now.
Sean is gonna kill me.
"Hey Ryan wanna skype?" He offered.
"Yeah sure why not." I replied completely forgetting my recent change in appearance. Well let's just hope my attitude didn't change.
I opened my laptop and received a call from Sean. One dumb thing I did though, I clicked on it.Seans image soon popped up with his favourite T-shirt on.
"Typical Shirt"I said grabbing his attention. He looked at me digitally and widened his eyes.
"What the-"
"Bleep"I said cutting him off. It seemed to be a habit of mine to say 'bleep'. I admit it is very annoying but it's useful if I have little kids around.
"Is that gonna stay long or"
"What is?"
"Your damn hair!"
"Uhm, it's cool right?"
"It's neon green, yeah its cool but is that a tattoo."
"it. Is?" I said in a questionable tone.
"Ryan are you trying to be punk." Sean said with a sigh. This is not good.
"Look Sean I can explain"
"I don't care about the hair, I don't care about the tattoo, but what I care about is the who"
"I don't get it"
"Are you with her?"
"No? I'm not dating her."
"But do you hang out with her?"
"Yeah why?" I replied. Sean's colour just faded away as if it was a big deal. I wanted to ask him what was wrong but his image disappeared to nothing but a computer screen.
"Oh my gosh"I said quietly to myself.
A flash of consciousness ran through me as if I lost my memory and retrieved it in a matter of milliseconds. Let me tell you this, it was not good.
Realising that the person that had been with me from my not-yet-cool era has now disappeared. I broke his trust with one stupid choice.
-
"Hey Hallie?"
"Ryan its 2am and just because I look like the nocturnal type doesn't mean I don't sleep."
"Geez, chill bro. So Sean broke up with- ended our friendship."
"Why?"
"You"
"Is it my fault" She replied with a tone.
"No not exactly. Well, Sean didn't want me hanging around you because he says you're bad influence."
"So, what do you want me to do?" she said with a yawn.
"I thought you would help me here."
"I'm really tired now can we just meet up tomorrow? I need to show you something"
"Where?"
"Near the rundown buildings street 40"
"That place?!"
The line went dead.
That was a short conversation now was it. She must've been extremely tired. I wonder what she did, Hallie is usually an energetic person that never sleeps 24/7. She also wanted to meet me. What is it about? The graffiti thing, missing Sam or is it just personal conflicts?
I stood in the midst of rundown buildings covered in nothing but graffiti and tiny bits of its original colours. The buildings were very colourful but a few were unique. There was a building with a bloody theme graffiti all over it. Markings of hands in red and of course, skulls.
"Hey" I saw Hallie walking towards me, out of breath, "Did it take me that long?"
"Nah not really, especially if you have all these amazing work of art displayed on the buildings."
"It's cool isn't it" she stared with them with awe,"They just don't get much attention I guess. The world doesn't fully acknowledge these works of art. They're more into Da Vinci's Mona Lisa."
I small chuckle escaped me," True but what did you want to tell me."
"Look to your very right."
I turned my head in the direction she addressed me to see a similar graffiti that Hallie was touching in our last graffiti encounter. It was the exact same drawing but with different strokes.
You can tell that the images aren't the same based on the strokes. You don't need to identify it, you just need to feel it that it is different.
"It was painted by a different person. The strokes aren't identical."
"You got an eye of graffiti."
"Why would anyone spray the same image?"
"I don't know honestly, I think it's some kind of hint, a signal to an upcoming event. The pieces don't exactly match."
I take a glance at the graffiti again, a picture of a wolf and the moon. The graffiti was drawn by an experience artist or I should say 'rebel'.
"Ryan let's take a closer look."
"I don't know, I want to go home now. That graffiti is really creeping me out."
"Coward."
"Better safe than sorry."
That soon grew into a long argument about cowards and safety, none of us were paying attention to our surroundings. Hallie was rolling her eyes over and over again and my hands were flying in the air.
"Hey you two!" A police shouted out.
"Yes, sir?"
"You both are charged for illegal drawings."
"What?" I said not believing it.
"Ryan look." Hallie pointed out the newly fresh painted graffiti behind them.
"I'll see you rebels in court on Thrusday."
There was nothing we could do, Hallie apparently picked up an unused spray can that was surprisingly just sitting underneath us.
