[13 years later]
P A C I F I C A
Everything's been normal lately. Bill hasn't bugged us since at least 8 years ago, the kids are heathy and growing and Dipper and I really never fight now.
"Mom will you make me dinner? I have field hockey in 45 minutes, Amanda has hockey and Stanley is going monster hunting with dad." Aria says. Hope decided to go by her middle name.
"Yeah. What do you want?" I say.
"Hotdog!" Amanda says.
"Salad." Aria says.
"I'll have a hotdog too." Stanley says.
I put two hotdogs in the microwave and get out the leftover Cesar salad from the fridge.
The microwave beeps and I take out the hotdogs, lay out forks and knifes and call everyone to dinner.
"Honey, will you make me some leftover steak please?" Dipper says into the house speaker.
"Sure." I say back.
Sometimes I feel like the cook, maid, and butler in the house.
I put steak into the microwave and wait for it to finish. It finishes and I get it out.
"It's ready Hon!" I yell upstairs.
"Come on mom we have to go!" Aria yells. Stick in hand ready to go.
"Bring it upstairs please!" Dipper says.
RIIING RIIING RIIING!!
"Aria, pick up the phone. I'm going to give this to your father."
Aria picks up the phone, I run upstairs and give it to Dipper.
D I P P E R
"Stanley let's go! We got some monsters to find."
"Dad, I've been ready for 20 minutes." Stanley pushes his glasses up.
I turn on the car from inside.
"Did you put on your coat and shoes?"
"Yes Dad!"
We walk out the door, then get in the car. I drive into the woods park my car at the end of the road and get out of the car. Stanley following behind me.
I hear the bushes shake. Stanley turns on his camera, I put my hand into the bush, grab the creature by its back legs and pull it up. The camera flashes not letting me get a good look. I turns its body to bite me. I let go of the creature it falls to the ground and scurries away.
I wince in pain. "What was is Stanley?!"
"I dunno come look." Stanley gestures me to come towards the camera and I take a good look at it.
"I dunno either let's keep a close eye out for that thing."
I turn on the flashlight and we wonder into the woods.
"Stanley you look up I'll look down." I say.
"Okay."
I hear a twig snap and leaves rustling. "Uhhh... Dad it's back."
"Stanley get behind me and video this."
The creature pounces forward towards my face. I tear it off of my face and hold it up I take a good look, menacing, small, sharp teeth, beady red eyes, and furry.
The creature tries to pounce at the camera but I hold it back. Something rings in my ear that makes my drop the beast. It screams loudly and scurries away.
I pull my phone out of my pocket. It's Pacifica. I pick up the phone.
"What is it sweetheart?"
"I need you and Stanley home as soon as possible. Amanda says you told her you would come to her game, and Aria said you should watch her practice."
"I told Amanda I would come, I'll go the Aria's game tomorrow instead." I signal Stanley to head to the car and keep talking with Pacifica.
"Okay bye."
"Bye." I hang up and follow Stanley to the car.
I drop Stanley at home and head to the ice rink where Amanda is playing. I cheer her on for a while then drive her home when the game is done.
I can't believe how grownup they are already.
