Jahr- "What the hell were you doing in a club dressed like that?"
"Wha.."
Jahr- "Don't interrupt me while I'm talking. You dress like a Harlot, your gona be treated like one. Was that your aim tonight?"
"Who the..."
Jahr- "I'm still speaking!...You tryna get back at me because I avoided you? What bloody game are you tryna play Ria? I thought you were a virgin or was that just your way of tryna trap me. Women can never be upfront with their feelings. They'll say anything to trap a man. I never would've pinned you to be like that dammit Ria! Why'd you do it?!"
I was gobsmacked.
"You calling me a hoe?"
Jahr- "Are you one? Because your dressed like one."
His words were a slap to my self esteem. Tears streamed down my face, I was so hurt. I wished I was home in bed snuggled under my blanket. Jahr seemed unsympathetic to my tears. He kept cursing under his breath.
Jahr- "I'm taking you home."
"I'll make my own way home."
Jahr- "Suit your damn self."
He walked off leaving me even more stunned that he would actually leave me behind the jerk. He came back around the corner and lifted me in his arms again.
Jahr- "It's ok if you wanna cry. Just let it out."
His soft demand rubbed me the wrong way but like an open tap I sobbed into his chest at the nightmare tonight turned out to be. Recalling the guys words to me I felt terrified. As though Jahr sensed my thoughts, he placed a kiss on my forehead.
Jahr- "I'll never let any harm come to you Ria... *Sighs*Seems I'm stuck with you now."
"Stuck?..."
I felt disgruntled at his choice of word. He looked down at me and smiled.
Jahr- "Yea but it means your stuck with me too so we're even."
I had no comeback for that.
"You carry a gun?"
Jahr- "A water gun."
"Ppfft."
Jahr- "All you need to know is that I'll protect you ok? Now no more questions. It's hard enough tryna carry your dead weight and answer your million questions at the same time."
He chuckled to himself when he heard me gasp before tightening my lips, refusing to ask another question. He saw me struggle to stay quiet. His shoulders were shaking from him holding his laugh in.
"You really are a bloody jerk you know that."
Jahr- "I know, that's what you love the most about me."
He winked and forced my head against his chest to stop me from disputing such a ridiculous claim.
I mumbled into his chest like a sook.
"Am I really so heavy?"
Jahr- "No baby, your light as a elephant." Before letting out a great laugh.
I was too surprised at the endearment to take offence..he called me baby. I closed my eyes with grin on my face..
I must have fallen asleep because we woke up in Nathaniel's driveway. The boys who were at the club were out the front. We walked up to the front steps. The guys saw my arm in Jahrs jacket and flinched. They turned to Jahr.
