Part 9

Later that afternoon after having a power nap I woke up to a near empty house. The boys were in the lounge room talking in low whispers but stopped the moment they noticed me.

Nathaniel- "How are you feeling? You hungry?"

"No I'm good. Where's the kids?"

Nathaniel- "Having a sleep over at Olivia's. Sis a few friends of mine are dropping in soon. They won't stay long so you can rest."

"It's ok. I'm fine really. I'll just read a book before I go back to sleep. I just wanted a drink of water."

Jay had an unnerving habit of just staring at me like a hunter. There was a knock at the front door.

"I'll get it."

Jay- "No I'll get it."

I ignored him seeing as I was closest to the front door. I opened it before Jay could beat me to it. He made a sound in the back of his throat which I knew was from him being frustrated as he always did in my dream as Jahr. My expression turned to glee when I saw Dommie standing on the other end of the door. Without thinking I jumped on him giving him a hug. He stiffened clearly shocked. Jay sounded clearly surprised by my action.

Jay- "What the hell?!"

Recalling that I only dreamt of Dommie my cheeks turned crimson red before moving back with an apologetic smile and blurted the first words that came out of my mouth to cover up my shame.

"Welcome! I like to give people hugs..to ah. ..um...make them feel welcomed."

I flashed Dommie a big smile hoping he'd buy it. Still seemingly shocked, he returned my smile with one of his own saying,

"Well you can hug me whenever you like pretty girl"

His voice was still soft and sweet as I remembered it. I moved aside to allow him in. I stole a quick glance at Jay under my lashes. He gave me a strange look before acknowledging his friend.

Jay- "Funny...I don't recall receiving any hugs."

"That's because you don't count."

And with that I walked to the kitchen but not before I heard him mumble under his breath,

"Loopy."

I spun around and glared at him.

"Stop calling me loopy you stupid man!"

Jay snapped back.

"Well then stop acting like one you clumsy girl"

Nathaniel- "Jay dammit your mouth!..Ria he didn't mean it."

"Don't make excuses for him bro."

Dommie looked at all 3 of us.

"Ah did I come at a bad time?"

Nathaniel- "Na uce. This is my sister in law Ria. Sis this is...."

"Dommie."

They looked at me in surprise. They also had that weirded out look they seem to always have when they're around me now or when I say something strange.

Jay- "How'd you know his name is Dommie?"

"He was in my dream."

Dommie- "Were we married by chance?"

He looked so hopeful that I blushed. Jay made another noise at the back of his throat.

"No you were one of Jahrs runners."
