The bell went off indicating that lunch had started. I was really relieved as I only had 2 more lessons left until I could go home. Walking along the corridor I stopped dead in my tracks to see an unexpected, Michael talking to Marcus, Chantel and khamilla. With long strides I travelled to the other side of the corridor.

"Lay Lay." My friend Khamilla yelled embracing me with a hug. Khamilla was another one of my closest friends and she is the loudest out of the group. When we were younger we always used to call her Ciara because she looked exactly like the RnB singer, seriously they could pass as twins! "Hey khamilla." I said "I haven't seen you in ages..." she trailed on and she was right I was late for school this morning all thanks to Tyrone who decided to get a coffee at Starbucks and then on the way back to the school there was a whole load of traffic. Could you believe it Chantel and I missed form time with the rest of our class AND half a lesson. Some of you might think missing lesson is great, but when you're in year 11 you need those lessons in preparation for your exam.

Pulling away from her I said hello to Marcus *who is Khamilla's BF* I know what you guys are thinking I'm the girl who ain't got a man. And I'll explain to you why in a minute. I said hi to Chantel but left Michael till last. "Hey Layla." Michael said. Omg he remembered my name... I'm really sounding childish, grow up Layla! "You know each other?" Marcus said "Yes." "No." Michael and I said at the same time and you can tell who said what. We both looked at each other me looking very confused and Michael smirking.

"We don't know much about each other but we have met." He explained to Marcus

"Cool. Well mans is hungry so I'm gonna go eat." Marcus said with Chantel and Khamilla agreeing.

As they all walked in front of us, me and Michael trailed behind. Chantel quickly looked back to me and gave me a sly wink; I rolled my eyes as I knew exactly what she was thinking. "So you're new to the school? What form are you in?" I asked Michael. He gave me his timetable which I noticed, the majority of his lessons were with me and he was In MY form. "Khamilla did say something about you being in this form but I wasn't too sure it was really you." Michael smiled as we grew closer to the lunch hall I stopped at my locker to place my bag inside. "And I am glad it was you." Michael added. "Can I have your number?" He said looking really hopeful, aww.

To tell you the truth I am not that type of girl to always be around boys. Chantel and Khamilla were the ones who always attracted the boys. I don't associate with boys only if I know them from time ago, which shows how close I am to Marcus but other than that boys are off my mind until I have finished exams. It's a bit harsh but I'll live.

"No offence or anything but I don't know you well enough to give you my number." I stated closing my locker door in the process. "We can get to know each other b." He defended. I shook my head thoroughly and walked away without looking back.

Lunch was not in any way nice; today they had chicken but not just any chicken unseasoned chicken. The food was so bland they could have replaced it with a card board box and I wouldn't tell the difference. Instead of torturing myself I decided to buy 2 cartons of orange juice and try and survive on that until the end of the day. You know how I love that shit! I threw my food away and left the lunch hall to the library.

*15 minutes later*

"Layla." I turned in my seat to see Michael again. "What are you following me or something?" I asked kinda pissed as he disturbed me yet again from my concentration. "Well little miss feisty, I had to come in here for some revision books." I looked up and gave him a blank look "Come on b, why are you being so hidden? I just want to talk and get to know you, what's so hard in that?"

"Well I don't want to get to know you." I said wow that came out harsh. "Cool." Michael said trying to hide his feelings which I think had been hurt but obviously it weren't obvious to anyone but me. Now I feel really bad I didn't mean for it to come out like that. But I have to stay focussed.
