A/N: oh my gosh guys all of you are freaking amazing there are over 6.4K reads, over 300 votes and over 400 comments, you GUYZ! And this book is #1 if you search Ticciwork and you have no idea how much joy that brings me okay.
Literally the only reason I started this book was because Ticciwork is the ship and I didn't expect anyone to actually read it. My writing isn't even that good I mean I'll bring up ideas and forget about them and make a bunch of plot holes like c'mon this book needs to be burned and rewritten like 4 times.
But you're still so awesome and supportive and I love you and I love when you beg me to update I think that's funny like "do you really think I'm not going to update? I'm finishing what I started."
Anyway, enough sappy rambling; YOU ARE AWESOME, and that's that.
Now you can read.

Clockwork's eyes fluttered open to the soft light of the lamp beside her bed, illuminating Pepper's form sitting in a chair across from her. She was sewing something, carefully pulling the needle through the cloth with perfect rhythm; In, out, in, out, in, out. Clockwork watched her for a while, unsure if she should make it known she was awake or not.
Just when she considered going back to sleep, Pepper's amber eyes jumped up and locked onto Clockwork's. She continued to sew without looking.
"Hello," She said calmly.
"Hi," Clockwork's voice was weak and hoarse, like she'd been yelling a lot, but she couldn't remember why.
In, out, in, out, in, out.
Pepper dropped her gaze back to her work. "How are you feeling?"
"Pretty okay..." Clockwork's hands ached and felt like they were swathed in cotton. She tried to move her arms to look at them but it hurt so much she changed her mind. "W-what happened?" Her mind was so blank it was starting to scare her.
"A lot of things." Pepper said carefully. Clockwork frowned. She tried back-tracking from the last thing she remembered:
She and Jeff got attacked by a Night Demon... They went inside to discuss it with the others... Slenderman was being mean to Toby and –
Clockwork shot upright so fast Pepper stabbed herself with her needle. "I'm not supposed to be here." She realized.
"Gods, I drew blood..." Pepper muttered, ignoring Clockwork. She rubbed the bright red liquid off her fingers and scowled at her until the Nine Tails reluctantly looked up.
"What are you hiding?" She demanded. Her arms and head were hurting from sitting up so fast. Pepper sighed regretfully.
"Nothing," She said, shrugging and playing with a pair of scissors she'd set on Clockwork's night table instead of making eye contact. "Just thought I'd give you time to recover before you..." She looked Clockwork up and down. "...freaked out and killed someone."
"I'm not going to kill anyone." Clockwork said hotly. Pepper exaggerated raising her eyebrows and looked back down at her project.
"Sure gave Toby a scare." She muttered. Clockwork's blood ran cold.
"D-did I -"
"Lie down, Clockwork." Pepper ordered.
Clockwork sank back onto her pillow, her limbs aching.
