"Arabella! Arabella! Get in here! Now!" Karen screamed.

I quickly got out of bed and ran into the living room.

"Yes?" I said and took in a deep breath.

"Why won't my damn dress zip?" Karen protested.

"I.. I'm not sure. Do you want me to try to zip it for you?" I said.

"Um, duh. Zip my dress! Now!"

"Yes ma'am." I quickly grabbed the zipper and tried to pull it up, but it wouldn't budge.

Two things were burning on my mind at this very moment. One: why is she getting dressed in the living room? Two: why doesn't her dress fit? It's her size..

"Uhh," I said nervously and bit down on my bottom lip.

"Let me guess, you can't get it to zip?" Karen said angrily.

"Uh, I can't. I'm so sorry." I said and backed away from her.

"Damn it! You're useless! Now what am I supposed to wear to the party tonight?" Karen hollered.

"Okay, don't panic. I bet the tag was just sized incorrectly. You just put on your clothes, and give me the dress. I can take it back and find one that's sized correctly." I said and she scoffed.

"Whatever. Just don't take long." Karen muttered. "I have stuff for you to do when you get back."

Karen then took off the dress and put on her other clothes, and gave the dress to me.

"I'll be right back." I said and rushed out the door.

I got in the car and went to the dress shop, and walked to the counter.

"Hey, um, you know how Karen had put on a little weight?" I said to Reese, the girl who worked there.

Reese and I are actually well-aquatinted, because Karen takes me there quite often so she can shop and make me carry her bags.

"Yeah, I've noticed. Is she still in denial?" Reese replied.

"Yeah. She couldn't zip her dress. I told her that it was just sized wrong. I don't want her to know I got a bigger dress, because she'd get angry. Do you think you could take out the tag that says size 6, and replace it with a tag that says size 4?" I said and Reese nodded her head a bit.

"Sure thing. Let me just see the other dress." Reese said and I gave her the size four dress, then the size six.

She switched the tags within a few minutes.

"I'll just get rid of this one." Reese said and took the smaller dress to the back of the store.

"Thanks. Got to go." I said and ran out the door.

When I got home, I knocked on Karen's door.

"I found one that had the right tag. You want to try it on?" I said and Karen opened her door.

"Give me that damn dress." She said and snatched the dress out of my hands, and slammed the door. "Oh, and I need you to do Justin's zombie makeup for that party he's going to tonight. It's already one in the afternoon, and that party he's going to is at six."

I sighed and went to Justin's room.

"I was told to do your makeup." I said as I walked in.

"Finally. I can't do it on my own, and it could take a couple of hours. What took you so long?" Justin said and turned to face me.

"I had to get your mom's dress. Now where's the makeup?" I said and he pointed to the makeup.

After a couple of hours, I got his makeup done, and started working on the party favors that Karen told me to do.

By the time I was finished, it was almost time for Karen's party.

"Change of plans, you're staying home. I'm going now. Caio." Karen said and went out the door.

I sighed and sat on the sofa, looking around to see if there was anything else I had to do.

"Pst, Ella." I heard someone whisper.

I looked around again, and saw someone standing at the bay window.

"Linda, what in the world?" I said and opened the window to let her in.

She was in her costume, but she was holding a bag. Grinning like an idiot, she gave the bag to me.

"What's this, vampy?" I said and looked at her. She was dressed as a vampire this year.

"Your costume." Linda said, smiling wide. "Put it on. We're going to the costume party."

"I can't. I'm supposed to stay home."

"You'll be in costume. No one will know your true identity. The headpiece doesn't exactly cover your whole face, but it should make you at least somewhat unrecognizable." Linda said and I pulled the costume out of the bag and glanced at her.

"I can't." I said and she rolled her eyes.

"Don't worry. We'll be back by midnight. Get dressed. We're going."
