I woke up early with a headache. Right now, I just wanted to be at home in my cosy bed and cuddling up with Abi. That reminds me, I wonder how she is... God, I miss her to bits! I checked the time on my iPhone. It was only 5 in the morning and lessons didn't start till around 8. So I jumped up and went for a walk outside. I needed fresh air after what had happened yesterday. I made myself swear I would never talk to Mason or Grace again. But it's really quite impossible if you are forced to see them everyday. I sent a quick text to Abi before slipping my phone back into my hoodie pocket.
Next thing, I could hear faint footsteps ahead. Who else actually bothers to get up at around 5 am and walk the school grounds? Then I started to wonder - what if it isn't anyone in the school. What if it's a complete stranger, ready to kidnap me?! I started to feel terrified and spun on my heels. As I ran back, I stepped on my own lace and fell flat onto the ground. I screeched as I squeezed my eyes in pain.
"Owwww" I cried
"Alex?" came a familiar voice from behind me, but I couldn't quite see who it was in the dark.
The figure drew closer and lowered down to my level. There he was. Stupid, stupid Mason!
"Don't touch me" I winced
He looked away as he blushed a bright red. I failed to notice how cute he looked because all I could think of was him being with Grace. I don't understand!
"Please. Let me help you" He begged, holding a gentle hand out towards me
Ignoring his offer, I asked coldly "Why her?"
He looked confused for a moment, but that soon faded as it was really quite obvious who I was talking about. He didn't answer though. Instead he looked away.
"Fine" I muttered "You've made it pretty clear who you really want. And that person isn't me" I got up quickly and limped back into the school. I don't want anything to do with Mason ever. What ever we had is no longer there. And nothing can bring it back...
I woke up again, this time with a sharp pain in my right ankle. What the hell happened? I slowly shifted out of my bed and hissed as my ankle hit the ground.
"Alex? Is that you?" Rose asked with a yawn.
"Yeah" I muttered
"Everything alright?" she asked seeming concerned
"Yeah" I muttered again
"You don't sound alright..." Georgia joined in causing me to jump and wince in pain again.
"You need to stop doing that!" I snapped
"Doing what?" she asked seriously
"Being a freak!" I insulted her.
She looked away in hurt and said nothing.
"You didn't need to be so harsh" Amber got up
"Oh! And when did you decide to join the party?!" I spat
"Look just because Mason chose Grace over you, it doesn't mean we did!" Rose defended
"I don't care about any of you! You all are losers and I don't need you lot! I just want to go home, its all I ask!" I cried
No one said a word.
"Why are you being like this? Is it us? Or are you just missing your family - or-" Amber asked
"Just shut up" I demanded "Freak" and with one angry look I slammed the bathroom door shut.
