Ashley's POV

I walked up the same boring steps and intothe building of inevitable hell, as I did everyday. The only difference was that I had my love with me. I looked to my right at Andy. He was going on about Batman or something of that nature. I was too busy thinking to be sure. Thinking... it kills you. Thinking of how to stop the douche canoes from hurting my Andy. Thinking of how to keep myself from hurting my Andy... How to keep myself from hurting myself.

Now, he's not really "my" Andy. But oh how I wish. Yes, I had a girlfriend, but I couldnt help my feelings. He

makes my world brighter, with his adorable smile, electrifying blue eyes, deep and caring, yet funny nature. How could anyone not love him?

Sadly very easily. As if some force was proving me right, Devin came around the hall way. "Hey fag!" I saw Andy wince. He came out last year, and the whole high school took part in making his life even more of a living hell.

Andy turned and looked me in the eyes. They shocked me more than normal. The beautiful blue held something more than I remember.

"Ashley. Run." He said.

Our normal routine. We would walk to school together. Take about ten steps in the building. Then be forced apart until 3rd period. We normally skipped from then on, depending on how badly he was beaten.

"Andy..."

"You got pretty boy with you today?" Devin called.

"Ashley. Go." Andy gritted his teeth.

I shook my head and took off down the hall way. I didn't want to leave him. The bell rang for everyone to go to class. But for some reason, I couldn't deal with being in the same building as him when he got tormented. I couldn't handle the fact that he wouldn't let me help him.

I ran back to my house, locking the door behind me. Mom wasn't home, not like she ever was.

_Good. Alone._ I thought. I ran upstairs to my bedroom,

and broke my promise to Andy. Just like I've been doing everyday for the past five months.
