Going Under The Waters

Chapter 4 : The Date (part 1)

The next Monday at School

"Hey! Sarah! I need to talk to you!" Dennis shouted from across the hallway.

"Oh my gosh! The one and only Dennis Frasier wants to talk to me! What do I do?! What do I do?!"

Sarah was at her locker getting her books for Geography class when she heard Dennis calling her

"Hi" he said when he reached her locker

"Sup" she said, popping her 'p'

"I just wanted to know if you would like to go out with me after school. I have a surprise for you"

"Sure, why not" she calmly responded. On the inside, she was feeling fireworks and screaming her head off

"Cool. I'll pick you up at eight"

"Alright, bye" she said then turned to walk away. Every head was turned towards them trying to figure out what Dennis Frasier, the captain of the basketball team, the bad boy of the school and the hottest one at that, was doing, talking to a below average girl, and asking her out on a date.

Sarah went straight up to Jasmine's locker and was lucky enough to catch her there

"Oh my gosh! Oh my fuck! Oh my goodness!" Sarah said in a rush, "You would never believe what I have to tell you!"

"Well hello to you too. What do you want?"

"You would never believe who just asked lil' ole me out!"

"Someone asked you out?! You have to tell me all about it! Who asked?!"

"You won't believe it but it was none other than Dennis 'hotbod' Frasier!"

"Oh Em Gee! I'm so happy for you! I'm going to come over to your place by six and we are going to doll you up for your first date!"

"This isn't my first date. I've had lots of other dates"

"Yeah. I'm not arguing"

Sarah could not forget to look of hatred and anger that crossed Jasmine's eyes when she told her it was Dennis

School went by in a rush as Sarah was unable to pay attention. Even at lunch, she found herself spacing out and daydreaming constantly. After school, Sarah and Jasmine boarded the school bus on their way to Sarah's house. Once they reached her house, Jasmine went up to her room while Sarah went to the kitchen to inform her mother of her plans.

"Oh my baby!" Tasha cried, "I'm so proud of you! I never thought this day would come! My baby's going on a date. Oh my God! You need clothes, shoes and make-up! Now aren't you happy we didn't throw out those clothes you said you didn't want?"

Sarah was able to escape the clutches of her mother and once she did, she ran up to her room. She stopped dead in her tracks when she saw what Jasmine had done.

Jasmine had picked out the most beautiful red dress for her, a matching pair of red pumps and was setting up the biggest makeup stand Sarah had ever seen.

"Ta da! I brought everything we would need" Jasmine said

"Oh my fuck... Where did you get that dress? And those shoes! Lord!"
"These? They were in your closet. Quite easy to find. Girl, if you're gonna be rolling with me, you're going to have to up your fashion game" Jasmine said as started doing Sarah's makeup

"Listen, I don't know why I'm saying this but, you have to be really careful around that boy. He isn't what he seems" Jasmine said carefully
"That reminds me!" Sarah said, "I kinda noticed the hostility between you two. What's up with that?"
Jasmine hesitated so long that she thought she wasn't going to answer but then she finally responded
"It's not something I can tell you right now but you'll find out soon enough"

At eight that evening, there was a knock on the door
"I'll get it mom!" Sarah said as she raced downstairs to open the front door.
Standing outside was Dennis in the most immaculate suit, coincidentally, with a red tie
"You look beautiful" he said
"Thank you. So do you" was her response
"I want her home by eleven!" Tasha yelled from the kitchen
"Frasier" Jasmine said as she come down the stairs, acknowledging him
"Julius" he greeted back
Sarah did not understand the exchange but she is took his arm as he led her to his car
"So, where are we going? She asked
"It's a surprise"
