It wasn't as bad as Kiku expected it to be. He had privacy to do whatever he wanted under the oak's shadow, with Yong Soo busy in the pool with Yao and Hyung reading his book avidly, turning the pages quicker and quicker.
He sighed slightly, closing his eyes and letting his nose relax him. The garden smelt of roses and freshness, a nice freshness even through the coldish weather. Even the chlorined water that filled the pool -and all around it, thanks to Yong Soo's splashes and diving- had a nice scent.
It was funny how closing his eyes to reality made Kiku reconsider his surroundings, rethink his opinion about the garden or even about the twins.
That was until he felt a few droplets of water splashing on his cheek, and then he realized that he had been hearing Yong's heavy footsteps towards him for a few seconds before.
He opened his eyes slightly, grimacing slightly at the sight: a water-dripping Yong Soo's huge grin and wide eyes staring at him. He almost looked like a maniac, delighted by his new idea about how to torture his next victim. It made Kiku flinch.
"Hey, wake up!! You aren't going to sleep all long, are you?"
"I... I wasn't sleeping," Kiku fought to keep his voice calm. "But I'd rather not get wet, it's cold."
He almost wanted to slap himself when Yong Soo bursted out laughing, holding his stomach. "Oh well, you take the ace thing too seriously, don't you? Great pun!!"
It amazed Kiku how someone he hated would learn so quickly about his sexuality just to tease him, even quicker than Alfred back in their early teenager times.
"Oh my god..." Kiku covered his face, embarrassed.
"Everyone knows it's not real, bro! You just have to find the one!" Yong grinned and laughed. "Maybe you should leave my cousin, if he isn't the one after all!"
Kiku glared at him, feeling a rush of boiling blood flooding to his head. He managed to stutter a first word when a yell stopped him.
"Yong!!" Yao gasped, glaring at his cousin. His eyebrows furrowed together over the bridge of his nose in a glaring frown.
The Korean tilted his head to stare at Yao, he seemed even amused. "What? God, Yao, relax!" He grabbed his arm and pulled him back to the pool, despite Yao's squirms and growls.
Kiku frowned and glared at Yong for treating Yao like that. He felt a weight on his chest, the weight of lies and the unknowing. He decided to brush it off before it affected him more, huffing slightly and curling up into his chair.

Eventually, Kiku fell asleep. Hyung kept reading, not really paying attention to Yong's hurtful words towards Kiku.
A light wind soothed Kiku slightly, making him freeze but relax. A slight cough escaped his throat.
Yao wrapped his towel around himself, chatting with Hyung about something that Kiku's brain couldn't process in its sleeping state.
He slowly opened his eyes, blinking heavily and yawning. He had really needed that nap, and judging by Yao's black circles, he did too. He still looked a lot better than before, at least he was distracted and would end up forgeting the news report.
The Chinese man smiled a little when he heard Kiku clearing his slightly sore throat awake, and waved at him. "Hi, love,"
Kiku smiled a little back, sitting up straight on his chair. He was glad to see Yao happy and forgetting their fights, the flashing idea of telling Yao the truth crossed his mind.
"Hi," He waved back, yawning and rubbing his eyes.
He smiled, maybe he could end up the fights. Telling Yao seemed like a reachable reality, he didn't think that Yao's get angry at him after that day of relax and comfort -at least for Yao.
The weight on his chest relieved slightly, letting him brighten his smile. An incredible eagerness followed the relief.
He would tell Yao that day, even if that meant to face the consequences. He wanted to stop lying, to give Yao the answers he wanted. And he couldn't live with such a weight on his chest for any longer, now that he had felt the relief and happiness he hadn't felt in months.
A happiness and joy interrupted by a loud laugh and a splash nearby.
"Guys!! You ready for the watergun fight?!" He practically yelled, wielding a hideous yellow and green plastic watergun.
Kiku felt his blood running cold, draining from his limbs in a mix of overwhelming rage, fear and disgust for cold water splashes.
He wanted to yell 'It's fucking COLD!!' at Yong Soo so bad, his stomach tingling at the held back fury. But once again, he stayed silent and just stared at Yong Soo with a disbelieving look.
Yao squeaked and frowned at him. "Where is my gun then?!"
'Great.'
Yong Soo grinned and threw a watergun at Yao. It was as hideous, but made with purple and blue plastic.
Hyung sighed and shielded his beloved book into a bag, snatching a red and orange watergun from Yong's hands and checking that it was filled -it was.
Kiku glared defensively at Yong Soo. "I don't want to watergun fight!" The Korean smirked. "Everyone against the special snowflake then!!"
Kiku gasped as he felt the freezing water splashing against his bare chest and abdomen, and soaking his shorts. He let out a cry, shivering.
Yao gasped in horror and tried to yank Yong Soo away from the whimpering and trembling Kiku. "Hey!! He said he didn't want to fight!" He growled.
Yong squirmed out of his grip, shooting at Kiku's face. The Japanese man flinched and yelped as the chair fell back. He hit the back of his head against the chair, groaning in pain as he rubbed the impact area and felt the warm blood wetting his fingers.
Yao gasped and quickly ran to Kiku's side, holding him up. "Love!" He stroked his hair softly, not touching his wound. Kiku hissed slightly in pain. "Yong Soo!! Look what you've done!"
Yong Soo shrugged and bit his lip. "Sorry? He chose not to get a weapon, it's his fault," "Well I thought you liked him?! And now don't even bother to help?!" "Maybe I lied! Why would I like someone as boring as him?!"
Hyung sighed and went back to his reading. Kiku winced, not wanting Yao to get into another fight that could end up badly for him. He blinked furiously to stop the black dots from prancing in front of his eyes, as a result of the impact.
Yao was intelligent and strong enough to stop arguing, picking Kiku up in his shakey arms and carrying him to their car.
He fastened the seatbelt around Kiku's waist and across his chest, gently tucking him in the passengers seat.
Yao sat on the driver's seat shakily, fastening his own seatbelt and starting to drive.
"I hate people like him. Hiding such an important truth just to don't seem rude or mind-changing. He could have said it before, and we wouldn't have to have dinner at theirs..."
Yao's fiery voice slowly went off in Kiku's head, a deafening roar in his ears slowly soothing him to unconsciousness.
He didn't want to think about the even bigger weight on his chest now.
Yao would hate him. He couldn't tell him anything.
