"Vin...?"
"Come in."
Scott shuffled into the room like a nervous young student on their first day of school. But he had much more to face than an unkind teacher or a pop quiz. He had to face this human being he'd known all his life, who his actions could have killed.
"H-hey Vin."
"Are you okay? You're more stuttery than Jeremy trying to talk to Mike."
At that point, Scott broke down into tears. He didn't even notice he was falling until his knees hit the hard tile ground. He covered his face with his hands and didn't even worry about stifling his sobs.
"Oh, geez, Scott, are you okay?"
"A-are you?" The words spill past Scott's lips as quickly as the tears had began rolling down his cheeks. He regretted saying it. What kind of question was that, anyways?
"Honestly? I'm not, but... I mean, I shouldn't have blamed it on you."
"You had all the right to, I was being a jerk." Scott had managed to calm down enough to articulate his words.
"It's just... I-I mean... I've been depressed lately, it's not your fault. I just... I placed so much trust in you. I gave you so much power in my life, and it drove me to... this. I shouldn't have done that. You aren't ready for anything... not for a suicidal, psychotic boyfriend, at least... I'm sorry."
"What do you mean, power?"
"My mind is just... it's broken, Scotty. If a person doesn't love me, they hate me, and there's always one person I care about more than anything, and they end up breaking my heart... at least, that's what my stupid mind thinks..."
"Vincent, look at me."
The violet man glanced over at the man who was now sitting up on the ground.
"I love your mind, and I love everything about you, exactly the way it is."
