You looked at Darren "I know what he's doing okay? But this has nothing to do with you! You can't seriously think that after all these years you can suddenly waltz into my life and imagine everything to be okay? I've put up with bullies before, this isn't any different" you say and then put the letter in your pocket.
"This... This.. WHAT!? [Y/N] This is so much different! This guy knows where you fucking live! For crying out loud! What next!? He might hurt you!" Darren yells.
"Physically? Yeah he might, a few cuts and bruises, I'd rather that any day over what you did to me..." You say bitterly.
Darren just shook his head "I know what I did was bad, trust me, I do... I still care about you... I really do" He says in a calmer voice as he takes your hands in his.
After you have calmed down and relaxed into Darren's touch the next thing you know, Darren was whispering something into you ear. "I have a plan, we are going to pretend to have had a huge fight, I'm gonna storm out, you're gonna slam the door in my face, this will trigger them to put a letter through the door, I'll be over the road, I'll watch and find out who it is" he whispers, knowing the person was probably outside listening
"It'll never work" you whispered back but Darren just pulled back and started yelling at you.
"You just think about yourself [Y/N]!" he yells and then tries to urge you to play along and shout back... so you did. Except you used this as an opportunity to get over the past and say the final things about it, yes it would hurt Darren, but he knew this was part of the plan.
"Me? Right.. because you care about me?" You shout back
"Of course I do-"
"Then why did you walk away! Every time I have needed you, you've walked away! Now to me that sounds fucking selfish!" you yell and Darren frowns but plays along.
"You know what? Forget it!" Darren yells and then makes his way over to the door and then opens it storming out
"Well good!" You shout back and then slam the door, praying to God, Darren would come back soon.
