I slide to a halt, dropping to my stomach. I was right behind her, so I manage to grab a handful of her hair. (Not my fault, it was all I could grab.) She cries out as her head yanks back, but I manage to pull her to safety before she falls.
"C'mon, no more mistakes. We gotta get moving. Our stuff's right up ahead." I jog at the front, testing for loose rocks.
Bella grumbles to herself as she runs her scalp, complaining about the pain.
