Aya:
After being dressed in a sleeveless silver gown that exposed my back, I sent my servants away.
I turned calmly with an almost invisible smile as I heard the sounds of a certain human soldier on her way toward my chamber.
I opened the door just as she knocked and was greeted by a beaming Syra holding a poor man in a headlock.
He gasped for air as I moved out of the way so Syra could drag him inside.
"Syra, would you like to introduce me to your latest victim?" I asked her, amused.
She cocked her head slightly. "Victim? This is my friend." She replied, dropping him onto the ground roughly.
I walked over and offered him a hand that he took gladly and allowed me to help him up.
I had to look up at him since he was couple inches taller than Syra.
"You're faerie aren't you?" I asked out loud as I studied his features.
His eyes widened and he slowly nodded in response, obviously surprised that I had noticed and named it so quickly.
Syra grinned smugly and elbowed him. "See? I told ya, she's a beauty. And a smart one too."
I couldn't the help but smile at her. Everything about her was screaming for me to.
Her smile was as contagious as her laugh and the sparkling amusement that never left her eyes was intoxicating to me.
Her friend stepped up and bowed before me. "I am Daren of the Faerie."
I dipped my head to him. "Greetings, son of the Faerie King. I am Ayalisandre."
His eyes widened once again and his mouth dropped as well as I once again surprised him with my knowledge of who he was.
He turned to look at Syra in astonishment. "You didn't tell me that Aya was Ayalisandre!" He glanced at me and I could his eyes evaluating me. "I can see why they call her a jewel."
That comment was rewarded with a gauntlet to an ugly kind of jewels.
He fell to the ground in a groaning heap as Syra fumed silently above him, her expression was so funny I couldn't help myself.
I laughed.
And once I started I couldn't stop.
I clutched my aching stomach as the giggling fit subsided and sighed happily, wiping away some tears from my eye.
As I regained my composure and stood up, I found myself being stared down by the half-faerie and human.
Syra suddenly exploded into a wide grin and wrapped an arm around my shoulder.
"You should laugh more often. It suites ya." She said, giving me her signature closed eye grin.
I smiled tentatively back at her as she went back to beating the crap out of her 'friend'.
I watched them in amusement but my thoughts kept going back to my book. I didn't notice that Syra had stopped beating her friend up until she was right in my face.
I felt my face start to flush bright red as Syra's face was only a few inches away from mine.
"You seem a bit out of it today, Aya." She said, frowning for a second before replacing it with a smile. "Do ya mind if I help with that?"
I frowned. "What do you mean 'help with that'?" I asked.
She grinned and next thing I knew, there was no more space between our faces.
Her lips were soft yet firm as she pressed them against mine. As she went to pull away I grabbed the front of her armor and pulled her back to me.
At last, we finally let each other go so we could breath. My face was burning red and Syra was out of breath.
"Seven Kingdoms, Aya!" Gasped Syra as she fell to her knees.
"Syra?!" I cried falling down to my knees beside her and checking her over. "Are you alright?!"
"Oh I'm fine, lass. You're just a really, really good kisser." She replied looking up at me with a grin.
I smiled back, relieved that she was indeed ok.
I loud cough reminded me that we were not alone and turned to Daren, standing and regaining. My composure before addressing him properly.
"Forgive, Daren. I didn't mean any offense." I said, bowing my head only slightly.
"It's fine!" He said, waving his hands in front of himself. "I'm just glad you remembered I was here!"
Syra laughed sheepishly behind me. "Sorry about that, friend. Got caught up in the moment."
My cheeks tinged red as I turned to her. "You mustn't say a word to my father!" I hissed.
She threw her hands up in front of herself. "Okay, okay!" She replied.
I nodded and turned to look out the window at where my elven guard watched in silence.
"That goes for you too!" I said although I couldn't see him. "That's an order!"
The elven guard jumped in through the window and landed at my feet, kneeling before me.
I was surprised to see that it was actually a woman.
"Forgive me, Princess. The King requires you're presence in the Throne Room." She told me, her eyes cast downward.
"Why?" I asked her, genuinely curious.
"The Faerie King and his entourage have arrived, Princess."
