"It's been about five hours since she's sat there."I heard a voice say, from just outside of the room I was in.
"Has she eaten?" One asked the other.
"Nope. No one could get her to talk after you left." He replied.
" Thanks Leo, you may attend to other matters now. I'll take it from here." The deeper voice said. I then heard the door creak open with soft footsteps that followed.
"Lovely weather we're having." He chirped. It was Luca gesturing to the window I've been looking through this whole time. Once he figured I wasn't going to reply, he then continued to say, "We haven't had this kind of sunshine in a long while."
I continued to sit there silently.
After my mental breakdown everything turned black for an instant before I saw light again. They told me I had fainted. Overwhelmed, I sat by this window for hours, not saying a word. Many tried to console me, while Luca was nowhere in sight. They claimed the same as Luca, that i was indeed in what they referred to as, "The Other Side"
Slowly, I was beginning to believe them and the idea terrified me. For the past few hours I've been left with all sorts of burning questions. I was starting to wonder if this is what the after life looked like.
"Am I dead?" I asked suddenly.
Taken aback by my sudden question, he replied, "Death is told to be nothing but cold dark air. They say we're-"
"In between life and death." I interrupted and from the corner of my eye, I saw him nod.
"Look Reese," He began to speak. "I understand what you're going through. I too 'til this day have no recollection of my identity in the real world. However, our souls are brought here for a reason."
"What reason could there possibly be?" I asked.
"Come with me." He said, offering a hand. I looked at him and down to his hand. "Trust me." He continued to say.
