RYAIRE RILEY
CHAPTER 8"Mr. Cash, no offense but I do not condone disrespect. I will not swoon over you like your employees. I came here for an interview, not a WWE insult smack down. So, if your not going to employ me then tell me now. There is no need to waste either of our time." I said with a straight face, my leg threatening to shake which would only remind me of the impossible and amuse this bastard.
"Well Miss. Riley, I'm not going to hire you." He said with a smirk.
He must've thought that this would make me began to swoon. He thought wrong. I nodded my head before standing up and making sure that my tight white skirt didn't crease. I grabbed my purse and turned around getting ready to walk out the office before a tall brown skinned woman wearing a red blazer, red Miss Me Capri jeans, some black red bottoms and a black t-shirt that read Bossy? Nah, I'm just the BOSS! I smiled. I like dominant girls, that aren't so fragile that if you insult them, they cry. I'm sorry. Detroit molded me into this, and I can't say I'm disappointed at the result.
"Not so fast Miss. Riley. I apologize for my brothers behavior. I am Rahlexi Cash, but you can call me Lexi. I am the sister of this asshole, also the Co CEO of Musical Productions. We need a 3rd dominant CEO, but it needs to be someone we can trust. However, we have been unfortunate in finding one. I will interview you myself and choose today. If I decide that you are worthy of the position you will start tomorrow."
"Yes ma'am... Miss. Lexi." I said with a genuine smile this time, but only because this woman was different and I could see us being friends which was very far fetched.
"First, what experience do you have with music in general and what genre do you prefer?"
"Music, a sound that should, make you feel a certain emotion without being able to describe it. I love it. Coming from Detroit, Hip Hop, Rhythm and Blues, and old school blues, boomed from beat boxes, radios, musical televisions and was traditionally listened too on musical channels. I could and still can memorize a song faster then any school work that the teachers gave me. Music is in my blood, literally. Michael Jackson, King of pop, is my cousin. He along with the rest of his sisters and brothers are family. Not anyone that I could be in touch with in a couple seconds but close enough to call up a couple family members and get their number. In my preference, I am a fan of gospel and rhythm and blues. I grew up listening to old gospel hems. The ones that my grandmother use to blast through the house while praying for her children and grandchildren. 3 generations in one home, she prayed for us all. However, my father was a drunk, I didn't know him well because he was always gone but when he was home and my grandmother was gone. He would blast artists like Jodeci, Bone, Thugs and Harmony, Charlie Wilson, N.W.A, Erykah Badu and so on. So, I have a wide range of variety and experience." I said reminiscing.
"Perfect, why should Musical productions hire you?" Rahlexi said.
"I would contribute greatly to the business, make sure everything runs smoothly, and also make sure that no one goes lacking in my presence. With my help, I will create legends to make this company, legendary. In return I expect a legendary check." I stated leaving a satisfactory smirk on Miss. Rahlexi's face and a small smug on Mr. Kyree's.
"Congratulations Miss. Riley. You are granted the position of Secondary Systematic Co Executive also known as SSCE. If you will follow me to my office I can give you your papers to sign, confirm your back ground check and give you the key to your office." She said with her perfectly arched eyebrow raised. "Alright, lead they way Miss. Lexi." I said as she turned on her heel. "Again, call me Lexi. But be grateful only you, Kyree, and my best friend have been granted that privilege."
She began strutting, her heels clacking, making the silence evidently return up on the staff as we passed."Don't stare. Welcome your new SSCE." She said without even granting them a glance. They clapped as I smiled. We approached a long desk near on a corner of the many offices that were in here. The phones rung continuously but as soon as Lexi approached- wait is this Kira?
"Hey Kira, this is the new SSCE, and Ryaire, this is Kira, my best friend."
"Oh my goodness, Ryaire! This is my roommate Lexi! I'm so happy for you Ryaire..." She said with that bright smile of hers. I smiled as she hugged me. She sat back down before Lexi spoke.
"Oh perfect! Well Kira, make sure that her office, 130, is open so that after she signs every thing, she can go right in and analyze it." She said.
Kira nodded before going back to the phone, talking to the caller that she had recently placed on hold. We walked around the large building until we entered a large office space, the same size as Kyrees. The aroma of vanilla filled my nostrils as we took a seat. She pulled out a Manila folder with what looked like a contract. She pulled it out and read it to me.
Basically, it informed me of my salary, what my job consists of and what I can and may not do. I nodded before taking the pen out of her hand and signing the document. She smiled and shook my hand before we conversed slightly. Finally, I stood, shook her hand, grabbed my things, and walked out. I walked happily through the building before coming to the front passing the receptionist from earlier. She waved so I returned the gesture. I exited the premises and walked to a nearby bus stop. I cannot wait until I start work so I can buy a car.
