The Now

Chapter 2: The Now

I wake up to my nice spacious room. The white wall are decorated with posters of Kpop groups and singers. I rub my eyes and remember the dream I had last night. It's the same dream I've been having for about two months. It's of me and Norma making plans to audition for Cube Entertainment. That was 3 years ago.
I get up and go to the bathroom. I look at myself in mirror and see my hair in a big mess. On one side of my head my hair is pressed in and on the other it's sticking out. I strip of my sleep wear and step in the shower.
After fourty-five minutes I get out feeling refreshed. Today is a big day. I finally get to see my best friend Norma. She gets a day off from touring. About two years ago she debuted with four other girls. She debuted as a member of a new girl group called Lovelies5, and she changed her name to Julie (줄리).

After changing into some clothes I left the room and went downstairs. There I was greeted with the pleasant smell of bacon. I walked into the kitchen where Henry was making food. Henry is a trainee like me. There are five more trainees living in my apartment. We're debuting in two months as a boy band called Beau. After 3 years of training I finally get to debut.
I grab an apple from the fruit bowl on the counter and bite into it.

Henry looks up "you're up pretty early" he says.

It's 8am, he's right. I'm not usually up til 9:30am

"Today Norma gets back" I say

"Norma?... oh you mean Julie" Henry says while turning off the stove.

"Yeah, Julie. I haven't seen her in three months and I'm excited"

I devour the rest of the apple and make my way to the sofa on the other side of the room. Tv time I say to myself. I click on the remote and start switching channels. I stop on a music channel. Beast is performing one of there songs.

"Hey Henry hyung! The Beast sumbaes are on the tv!" I shout to get Henry's attention. It's always fun to see groups from the same company perform. It's nice because one day I'll be the one performing. Henry sits next to me and watches silently. I only meet the Beast members once. It was the second day since I got to Cube. I was walking in the halls with other the trinees. We were headed towards the dance studio. When the Beast members came out from around the corner. It was so cool. At the time I've only heard of them from Norma. They walked past us and we bowed. The encounter was over in just a few seconds.

Someone knocked the door and I got up and made my way to the door. I looked through the peep hole and saw Norma. J opened the door and she came in.

"Justin! Omg I haven't seen you in so long!" She eeped

She hugged me and I hugged back

"How was touring?"

"It was great. We've gotten more popular. We placed fourth on the M countdown." She answered.

She changed a lot since her debut. I haven't seen her natural hair color in about 2 years. It's now either blond or an unnatural color. She wears more makeup and her wardrobe has become full of clothes of light colors. But I was happy that she accomplished her dream.

"So are you ready to go" she exclaimed.

"Go where" I said.

"Shopping, I heard you're debuting in two months. You need new clothes. Once you're famous you can't walk around in public with a plain T and jeans"

She grabbed my wrist and pulled me outside. She dragged me to the elevator and pushed the Ground level button.

She sat me down on one of those bench things in the clothing store and took off. Seconds later she reappeared with a grey T-shirt with colorful symbols on the front and white skinny jeans. "Try these" she said. I walk in side the dressing room. I struggle to put on the jeans because it's too tight on the thigh area. "These have to fit, I don't want to ask for a bigger size" I whisper to myself. I finally get them on and walk out.

"I like the shirt but I think purple jeans will be better." She says

Two hours later and we're waking down the street towards the park.

"Hey Justin you what's a grand idea?"

"What?" I foolishly answer.

"You should dye your hair." She shrieks and jumps up and down.

"Why?" I say

"It'll be so cool and different, come on" he bugs

I look at her searching for any indication that she's joking. But I find nothing. I think for a minute or two and then I slowly nod my head "yes".

She screams "yay" then takes me to the nearest hair salon.

"Ok, Justin close your eyes and I'll chose the color. ok?" She tells me in a soothing way making me trust her.

I nod and close my eyes.

This chapter feels a bit boring. I promise next time it'll be a bazillion times better. Til Next Time :).
