Chapter 4: Moving to Fast
We got in our positions. The crowd wasn't all that enthusiastic, I'm not mad though, if I had to sit through an unknown group's first concert I wouldn't be all that exited either. We got ready. Henry at my left and one of our other vocalist Ji-hoon at my right in the center of all seven of us.
The music started; we quickly began with our choreography to the song. We practiced this one song countless times since it'll be the title track of our debut extended play. Henry rapped for the first part of the song and choreography. Later it changed to Dong Seok our main vocalist, then me and Ji-hoon singing parts of the chorus.
We danced some more, Hyun Joon then rapped his part and sang too; Dong Seok sang again. Jae Hyeong, Ji-hoon, and I shared some parts and then the first performance was over. We performed the rest of the songs that were approved by the company, we thanked the audience, they cheered, and then we left the stage.
Back stage we changed back to our clothes and we discussed the concert and the audience. I stayed near the side of the stage staring at the Beast members perform their songs. I want Beau to one day be like them. all the members look so relaxed performing but they also kept it fun in between. I stared at them perform for about three songs.
"Hey? you ready to leave?" Henry asked from behind me. I turned to look at him.
"Sure, is the van here?" I said as we made our way to the others.
"I'm hungry!" blurted Ji-hoon.
We all started at him then started laughing. Ji-hoon is always hungry.
Our manager then walked in a told us that it was time to leave. As a whole group we walked out of the room and headed out the building. Everyone was talking and laughing. We acted as if we did performances everyday; we acted like it was noting.
The ride back to the dorm was uneventful, more talking. I couldn't stop thinking about out performance. Was I good, Did I 'kill it'?
"Man I can really go for some black bean noodles right now." Ji-hoon said to three of his friends.
Our manager look back at us from the drivers seat. "Ji-hoon you're still on your diet. you need to lose about ten more pounds. eat a carrot". Ji-hoon looked so disappointed. Ji-hoon has been overweight for the majority of his life. He looks good now, but the company thinks he still looks on the heavy side and put him on this diet. He is only allowed to eat vegetables and proteins, and he is pressured to exercise throughout the whole day.
When we got to our dorms our manager said that he'll be back in about four hours because the company is going to evaluate us on our performance. Now I know the real reason why we did this, they're going to make changes to the group. ugh.
I sat on the sofa and turned on the tv. "what do you think is going to happen?" asked Henry. He then came towards the sofa and sat next to me.
"I don't know? maybe something good?" I watched the characters on the tv move around comedicly.
Our manager came back and once again we left. I was so nervous. What if it was bad news? What if they thought that one rapper was enough and cut Henry out. but he's like my only friend, he is too from the States. What if I get cut because I suck at singing. epp.
We made it to our destination in several minutes. We got in the building and went up the elevator. We followed our manager through the hallways and stopped in front of a brown wooden door. He opened it and the room was filled with like six people in suits. We took our seats at the conference table and waited.
