Chapter 3: Is This Good?

After what I think was two hours Norma finally let me open my eyes. I tried to look earlier but I wasn't near a mirror. The hair person finished drying my hair and handed me a mirror. I looked at my reflection and freaked

"Norma was have you done! I look like a character from an anime!"

"I know. Isn't cute?" Norma chirped.

"No, My stars! Why green?" I shouted

"C'mon Justin you'll get used to it and you'll want to keep it forever. You look nice." She says.

I get up and pay the nice lady who colored my hair. I may not like it but I'm still going to pay for it 'cause I'm nice like that. I quickly walk to the exit and leave. Norma chasing after I go to the place we were heading anyways. The park. Back in my hometown Norma and I would always go to the park. I don't know why we liked the park but it was nice being outside. I strolled down a path and stopped on a bridge. While I was looking down into the river Norma caught up to me.

"You look nice, don't ya?" She said.

I look at my reflection in the water. I looked at my hair. It's a teal green color, blueish at the ends. I think with time the color will even out. I think for a second before I respond.

"It's nice but what if people hate it."

"People won't hate it. Let's go back to the apartment and show the other trainees" she says with amusement.

We make it to the apartment and I open the door. We walk in. Henry is still glued to the tv. The other members are up too. Some exercising and others dancing in our mini dance studio. I guess their exercising too...

"Henry! Get up and exercise too!" I shout at him. He turns around to face me already protesting when his jaw drops.

"Your... Your hair" He says. "It's green... why?" He continues.

Norma responds for me " I chose the color. I thought he would look good in it."

"Do you like it?" I ask Henry.

He thinks for a minute. "It's ok" he says without emotion.

Ok? Fine I don't need his opinion. I'll ask Hyun Joon. He's way more talented than Henry thus his opinion means more. I spot Hyun Joon practicing choreography with 2 other members and call him over. He gets his water bottle and towel and comes out way. Hyun Joon is one of our rappers he's also our best dancer and the best looking member making his validation mean way more than Henry's.

"Hey Justin. Nice hair" he says

"Thanks bye" I say mentioning him to leave.

Norma and Henry look at me. "What was that about?"

"Nothing I just wanted to hear someone say they like it."

"How did you know he would say something nice?" Asked Henry.

I snorted "I don't know Henry, maybe because he's nice."

And with that I left to my room.

I jump on my bed and just lie there. Zzmm zzmm my phone vibrates. A text from Norma

I'm leaving, dance practice. Bye.

I type

Kk, bye, thanks for the green hair. It's different.

I wonder if I have anything planned for tomorrow? I say to myself as I drift a slumber.

I woke up in my bed all wrapped up in my blankets. Who covered me up? That's creepy. I get up and trudge to the bathroom. I shower then dry myself. Ugh my towel is now this blue green color. I should've said no to dying my hair. I know nothing about hair maintenance.... but Norma does.

I ring Norma

Hey Norma how long will the dye continue to bleed?

Not long about 3 or 5 days worth of showers.

Should I change how much I shower?

You don't have to but you should rince your hair with cold water so it'll fade slower. Ok?

That was informative... Norma does seem very busy. I wonder if that's how I'll be after my debut. Did she even rest after dance practice?

I hear the door to my room open. "Justin get ready! We're all heading out!"

"Out?! To where? Why wasn't I informed of this?!" I shout back to the voice that is clearly Henry.

"Just get down here!"

I quickly change into some presentable clothes, sorry sweats you'll have to wait. I walk downstairs to see the manager of Beau.

"Everyone, today your going to open for Beast." He says

Everyone whispers. "When was this decided?" One of our other members asks.

"It was decided earlier today. Your not debuting but it's a test run." Our manager responds.

"I can't believe we're opening for the Beast hyungs." Henry whispers to me. "How many songs does an opening group even sing?" He continues.

"I don't know, we've only practiced three songs." I whisper back.

Practice today was brutal. Hours of dancing and vocal exercises. Now we're in our dressing room in the venue. It was so cool seeing our group's on the door.

Our outfits look great. Our two rappers will sport muscle tees with shorts and sneakers. While the rest of us will wear t-shirts, rigged black jeans and sneakers. My t-shirt is purple and my sneakers are red. Henry muscle tee is red, his shorts are black, and his sneakers are also red.

"Ok guys your up." The stage manger says.
