"Samantha! Hurry up and get ready! He will be here soon!" Grinning, I drop my fork and dash up to my room, obeying my mom excitedly.

It was Christmas season! My absolute favorite time of the year. Decorating the tree and the house, baking cookies, drinking hot chocolate by the fire, curled up in a big sweatshirt with a good book and a bunch of blankets. I love making and buying presents for everyone, seeing their smiling faces when they unwrap them. But my absolute FAVORITE part is the lights. All the houses lined with twinkling bulbs of color, casting rainbow glows on the streets as you drive by. I loved seeing Christmas lights and, to my delight, I was going to to today!

Looking through my closet, I searched for the sweater. I have this sweater which Ell loves on me, so I wanted to surprise him. Being my boyfriend, I loved making him happy. Finally finding the cream sweater, I threw it on over the burgundy top I was wearing. Pulling off my sweats, I slipped on a pair of jeans with a few rips in them and pulled on my favorite pair of boots. Pinning my hair out of my face, I smiled at myself in the mirror, pleased with my outfit.

Suddenly, I heard the doorbell ring, causing a swarm of butterflies to erupt in my stomach.

I had gone to see Christmas lights many times before, but not with Ell. This was a first. Taking a deep breathe, I walked down the hall to the front room where my mom was talking to Ell. Walking in, I saw him standing there, looking perfect as ever. Looking over at me, he smiled.

"Hey beautiful," Ell said, smiling.

"Hey," I replied, going over and hugging him. He wrapped his arms around me, making me feel at home.

"Ready to go?" I nodded as a response, grabbing my purse from the table. After saying bye to my mom, we headed to the neighborhood of lights. We walked around for a while, admiring the lights around us.

"Hey, Sam. Look at that house!" said Ell, pointing to a house with flashing lights and a sign that had a radio station on it. "The lights change to the music!"

"Oh cool!" I said, looking at the flashing lights and the people dancing in front of the house. We walked over to the house, laughing at the people jamming out to Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree. A little girl kept spinning, causing her to tumble over, laughing. Ell whispered in my ear.

"We might have one like her someday," he whispered, sending a bright red blush across my cheeks. Trying to keep him from seeing my blush, I pull him to where everyone is dancing. Laughing, we both begin jamming out to the music, busting out our best moves. When the song finished, Ell came over to me, lightly kissing me on the cheek. Honestly, this night could not be perfect. I am at my favorite place with my most favorite person in the world.
