Somi's POV

Ugh there goes my alarm. O MAN DARN. SCHOOL. Arghhhhh (bizarre sound) I reluctantly rolled out of bed and ran into the shower before my laziness could kick in. Then, as usual, I did my hair and makeup and finally I tried on my new uniform. I never wore an official uniform to school before so I was giddy with excitement to try it on.

It was really pretty, a navy blue vest with the school's logo and my name and a beige skirt with a white collared t-shirt underneath. I fit well with it. Cute! I thought as I looked at the mirror one last time before grabbing my backpack and heading out.

"Somi! Are you ready yet? I'm taking you to school since its your first day. Kay?"my mom reminded me

"Yea I'm ready!"

"Then leggo!"

I sat in our black Odyssey shaking my legs doing whatever I could to get rid of my nervousness.

I wasn't nervous about language though, I am pretty fluent in Korean since my mom always makes me speak in Korean to her. But it was whether I will be accepted well by the students and not become an outcast that made me nervous.

The high gates of the high school started peeking into view. *deep breaths*
You can do this I thought

"Somi! Aww my Somi why are you nervous! YOU WILL BE FINE" my mom reassured me again, pinching my cheek. I hate it when she treats me like a little kid but today I was thankful because at least for today, I am a little kid.

I realized that I have gained attention ever since our black Odyssey parked by the gate. As soon as I opened the door, I wished so much to go back in and close it. Literally EVERYONE was staring at me.

As I passed the gate I saw all the bicycles and figured out that cars, especially a minivan wasn't a common use of transportation to come to school.

As I walked to the main entrance I could hear whispers, "Is she a celebrity?" "Whats with the black minivan? She doesn't have a bicycle?!" "Want a grand entrance huh?"

I blushed and walked faster towards the main entrance. I went to the office and introduced myself as the new student and a teacher led me to a classroom.

My heart beat like crazy with nervousness.
