Austria One shots

It was another normal day working as a substitute maid for Elizabeta at Roderich's place, since Elizabeta was at war with someone at the moment. As you finished cleaning the book shelves in Roderich's study, you hear something coming from the music room. You already knew what it was, having worked here for so long you got to learn more and more about Roderich's daily routine. Smiling, you made your way to the music room, listening to the sweet melody as you went along.

When you were only a few foot steps away, you hear the melody change. Instead of the sweet and gentle melody it was a second ago, it was more fierce and angry, yet upset and hopeless. Cracking the door open, you see Roderich sitting at his grand piano, his fingers running quickly over the keys. His facial expression looked kind of sad and aggravated at the same time. 'What's wrong with him today?' You ask yourself as you put down your bucket of cleaning supplies to lean closer to the door. You listened as the melody changed again. Now it was excited and hopeful. 'What's happening? He normally never does this change of melody before,' you think to yourself as you leaned closer to the door, accidentally kicking over the bucket you put down. The sound of its metal sides hitting the nice marble floor echoed throughout the halls. You felt your heart beat quicken as Roderich's playing suddenly stopped. Rising from his seat he made it toward the door where you were. Quickly you jump back and push the things to the side, just in time so that the door wouldn't hit it. Roderich made eye contact wit you as you smiled innocently. Bowing your head slightly you greeted him.

"Hello Mr. Edelstein. I came to clean up the music room."

Roderich looked into your eyes for a few more seconds before looking away and fixing his shirt sleeve.

"Alright, but don't bother me as I'm working."

Nodding your head, you wait till he turns around to collect your things to clean. Quickly gathering them up, you stuff them back into the bucket and carry them into the room. Roderich already made his way back to his piano seat, so you closed the door before you started your work.

As you were dusting antiques, you hear Roderich's first melody come back. The sweet and gentleness of the melody filling the room. As you dusted you couldn't help but smile. As Roderich continued to play, you found yourself swaying to the soft melody. Your dress swaying from side to side with you as you worked. Suddenly you hear him stop playing. Looking up quickly you look at him from across the room. You found your eyes meeting his as he looked over at you. Blinking you tilt your head to the side.

"Is something wrong Mr. Edelstein?"

As you waited a few seconds for a respond, you see Roderich shake his head as he cleared his throat.

"N-Nothing. You can get back to working.."

Smiling, you turn back to dusting as Roderich went back to playing. The melody changed again. It was a melody of crushed hope and a sad joy. You felt yourself start to feel really sad for some reason. As you dusted you smiled sadly.

"Mr. Edelstein?"

You called his name to get his attention, which it did. He continued to play but his eyes were up looking at you as you turned around.

"What is it _____?"

Gripping the duster in your hands you take a deep breath before speaking.

"I was wondering.... How come your melody keeps changing?"

Roderich's eyes widen as he gradually stops playing. You feel your cheeks get red as he continued to stare at you. Moving your gaze to various parts of the room you stutter.

"I-I m-mean... At f-first it was a.... S-sweet and g-gentle melody. Then i-it was angry yet sad. A-and then it was e-excited and a bit hopeful...."

Glancing to see if he was still looking at you, you realized that he was. Blushing a dark shade of red you laugh awkwardly.

"I-I'm sorry about that... It's just that... This normally isn't you. Switching the melody suddenly in the middle of a beautiful masterpiece. It's just-"

Suddenly you saw a shadow above you as you stared at the ground. Quickly looking up you meet eyes with Roderich. He had a serious expression that kind of scared you a bit. Stepping back you continue to look into Roderich's eyes.

"I-I'm really sorry sir. I won't bother you again-"

Suddenly Roderich wrapped his arms around you in a tight hug. Your hands pressed up against his chest and you could feel his heart beat quicken. Your eyes widened at his odd behavior. Suddenly you feel his head turn to whisper into your ear.

"I can't believe you noticed... And even understood what my music meant."

Wrapping his arms tighter around you, but not so tight that you couldn't breath, you feel warm tears fall onto your dress shoulder. Quickly you start to panic.

"What's wrong sir!? Are you alright?!"

Slowly he started to laugh as tears continued to fall on you. Wiping his cheek against your shoulder he loosens the hug.

"I'm fine. I'm just really glad that you're here. Ich liebe dich..."

Suddenly you feel your heart beat at the same rate as his. Smiling you loosen your hands from between you two and wrap them around him as well, gripping onto his shirt.

"I-I love you two... Mr. Edelstein."

Loosening the hug, Roderich chuckles and leans back to look into your beautiful eyes.

"You can call me Roderich, _____."

Nodding your head you smile happily.

"Ok Roderich. Do you mind if you can play me a melody of how you feel right now?"

His eyes widened for a second before closing, his lips pressing lovingly into yours. Closing your eyes you lean into the kiss and wrap your arms around his neck. Slowly Roderich released the kiss and smiled at you.

"Now I have a beautiful melody to play."

As the two of you walk over to the piano, you both sit on the seat as Roderich played. This time the melody was of happiness that could never been destroyed and a love that could conquer anything.
