Nocturne Op.9 No.2

Sitting in one of your classrooms, waiting not very patiently for lunch to come, you stared lazily at the clock, that seemed like it wasn't moving. Suddenly a sweet melody caught your attention. It was barely audible, but it was there. For some reason, the melody sounded quite familiar to you. Just as you were trying to figure out what the melody was, the loud bell announcing class was over filled the halls, blocking the sweet sound of the music. Groaning, aggravated that the bell was in the way of you figuring out what was playing, you stood from your seat and ran out the room.

As you walked down the hall to where you thought the song might have come from, you were attacked by your fellow science partner Ana (ME!). Surprised, you looked over your shoulder and half waved to her.

"Hey, why are you here? Didn't you leave for lunch like everyone else?"

Shaking her head she walked with you in whatever direction you were headed.

"I was waiting for you~ but when I saw you going the other way, I followed. So where you headed?"

Sighing you try to listen for the melody again. Then suddenly you faintly heard it again. Picking up your walking pace you head toward the music, Ana not far behind.

"Stop walking so fast! You know I hate running or whatever this is called... Speed walking? I don't know."

As Ana slowed down and stopped for a short breather, you continued to pursue the sound. The music was getting louder and louder as you got closer to the music room. As you stopped in front of the music room door, you listened to the song, studying it and gradually recognizing what was being played. 'This song.... Why is it so familiar?' You thought to yourself as you tried harder to remember where you heard it once. Suddenly Ana appeared from around the corner, out of breath and walking lazily over to you.

"You left me.... I see how it is... What a friend..."

Shushing her you, leaned closer to the door and looked inside and saw someone sitting at the grand piano, their fingers dancing over the keys. Looking over at you, then into the small glass window, Ana peered inside and saw who you were looking at. Smirking she shock her head laughing quietly.

"I see~ now I know what the rush was all about~ Here, let me help you get his attention."

At first you didn't understand what she meant by "get his attention" until you felt your back being pushed against the door, causing it to be pushed open. The guy who sat at the piano looked up and saw you standing there, awkwardly.

"May I help du?"

Ana peaked inside then smirked, whispering to you.

"Good luck _________~"

With that she did a quick dash for the lunchroom, not complaining about how she hated running either. Feeling your cheeks get warm from embarrassment, you stood up straight and laughed shyly.

"S-Sorry to disturb you.... I-I just heard your music a-and wanted to know who was playing..."

He looked at you for a second then smiled.

"Do you like it?"

Getting a bit redder at thinking of him wondering how you thought of it, you looked down at your hands and shyly answered.

"I-I like it a lot... It reminds me of something from my past, but..."

Pausing you glanced up at him and saw he was still paying attention to you. Getting even redder, if that was even possible, you tried to continue.

"B-but I don't remember exactly w-what it was..."

It was silent for a few seconds after you finished speaking. Suddenly you felt really embarrassed and bowed your head.
