When I woke up I wasn’t in the car. I was in a soft bed with silky sheets and soft, fluffy pillows. The air was cool and outside the closed blind I could see the brilliance of the sun. I turned over onto my back and stretched. I sat up and slid out of the tall bed.

I searched around the unfamiliar house for Hunter. After searching everywhere, I found a door. I opened it and stepped outside.

I shaded my eyes as the radiant sun shocked my eyes. It was warm too.  Once my eyes adjusted, I saw where I was.

Surrounding me was sand and beaches that I could see over the cliff. I stepped out into the sand and looked around. On the other side of the house was a forested of palm trees.

But as I got over the shock of the sudden change in climate, I realized there was still no sign of Hunter. And I didn’t know where I was or how I got here.

Was all this a dream? It could be. What happened to everyone else?

I began to panic.

“Hu-” I stopped as I saw a small speed boat stop and Hunter hopped out. Without thinking, I ran down a dirt path until I can down to the beach, where I could see hunter tying up the boat.

“HUNTER!” I called.

He turned and I ran to him. With one bound he met me half way and I embraced him and squeezed him to me with everything I had.

“I’m sorry. I was only gone for a couple minutes. I just needed to get some stuff. I-”

“No, its okay, I-I panicked. I don’t know where I am. I could find you. I can’t even think about what’s going on back home.” I explained, still embracing him, looking in his eyes.

“Well everything is fine. I have a couple of friends up there taking care of everything. That werewolf fled when they came in and everyone was fine. They’re trying to find him. I just talked to Flower, she told your parents that I am an undercover officer that was looking for this guy for a while and he was aiming for you and I took you away to keep you safe, which isn’t too far from the truth.”

“Where are we?”

“We’re on an island belt in the Atlantic.”

“Oh.  I-its just you and me?” I asked.

He smiled and nodded, kissing my head then my cheek and my lips.

“I love you, Rosalynn, forever and always. When you need it just to be you and me, tell me and we’ll get away.” He promised.

I nodded and he towed me back up the path and to the house, after he took the bags out of the boat. Once we were in the house he set the bags down in the kitchen and put me on the counter. He began to put all the food away and I watch him carefully as he did this. Questions racked my brain again as I watched him.

“How long are we going to be here for?”

“Just until I know you’re safe.”

“How long would that be?”

He was silent for a while. He stopped and just stood frozen. He finally turned back around and looked at me.

“I don’t know.”
