Chapter 13

Karen tried to keep her composure as she passed the guys.

The hotel wasn't far; maybe two minutes at the most. It was just up the road.

Kimberly went to the front desk to get both of their keys. They walked through the lobby and up the long flight of stairs. She knew Karen wouldn't be up for an elevator ride with people.

They got to Karen's room and Kimberly walked in with her. The hotel already had her bags in the room. The only reason they were staying at a hotel was because they didn't have a show the next day. Just call it a lucky break.

Karen changed into sweats and a sweatshirt. She laid in the bed and looked out the double doors. The view was beautiful.

Kimberly stood there. "Get me if you need me okay? I'm only three doors down."

Karen rolled over. "Thank you Kim. I will."

Kimberly walked out the door and shut it quietly.

Karen needed to talk to Jimi, but she didn't know when or how. She heard movement outside. Hoping it was Jimi, she opened the door and peeked out. It was Phillip.

"He's coming."

Karen knew he meant Jimi. She cracked the door until he came up. When she saw him at the door, she walked out. She true to be quiet, but obviously it didn't work because he looked at her.

He stood there for a minute before opening the door and shutting it in her face.

"Jimi open it back up."

No answer.

"J, we need to talk." It was like deja vu.

Still no answer.

"J, I love you." She admitted, so quiet, she was surprised he heard it.

He opened the door.

She stood there in silence.

"Are you just gonna stand there?" He asked, angry.

"I'm going to say something, just let me get my thoughts together."

He looked at her in her sweats. She looked beautiful as always. He looked at her normally beautiful bright brown eyes, that were now tear stained.

"I shouldn't have let you leave the room like that. I didn't know how to say that I love you too. I've loved you for a while now, but I was scared that it would ruin what we had or our career.
