Jason and Emily made it to the nurses office. The nurse, a young woman who always wore a smile turned around, "Oh how cute! Are you two a couple?"

Jason flashed the nurse a grin, "Well..."

It was then when Emily quickly reacted and said, "No, we are definitely not dating." Jason looked down at her, having a really hurt look on his face.

The nurse sensed an awkward aura and quipped, "I will be right back." She then left, leaving Jason and Emily alone, making it more awkward than before.

Jason spoke up, "Why did you say it like that? Like it's never going to happen?"

Embarrassed, she looked away and murmured, "I don't mean like- well I... look I not to be rude, but you're just not my type."

"What's that supposed to mean? It's my first day here, how could you already know what I'm like?"

"You seem like a total player!" Emily exclaimed, not realizing how loud she said it.

He seemed offended, "I see... I thought we could hit it off like, you know, like go on a date or something... but guess not."

The nurse suddenly came back in, "I'm back, well it seems like you need to go to the doctors because you most likely have a sprained  ankle," the nurse said.

"No I don't," she protested, trying to stand up, but then fell to the ground. Jason ran up to her side and caught her before she could fall and carried her back to little bed.

"We can lend you one of the school crutches until you get a pair of your own," the nurse explained. "I'll call your mom, and she'll come to get you soon."

"We will go right after school," Jason said immediately.

Emily raised an eyebrow, "What do you mean we?"

"We got through this much, so I figured we might as well as go together."

"Well then stop figuring," Emily said pointedly, "My mom will take me."

"Nurse, can we have a second to talk?" Jason asked. She nodded and left, without giving Emily time to protest.

Once the nurse gone, Jason bent down so he could whisper into Emily's ear, "So here's what's going to happen. I will go with you to the doctors and see if you need a sprain brace or something. And you are going to enjoy it."

She scoffed, "Excuse me!?"

"You owe me."

"I owe you!?" Emily repeated in disbelief, "You went from an okay guy, to a complete asshole in less than ten minutes."

"I went from okay to asshole?" He asked, "I literally stopped girls from beating you up and took you to the nurse. What do I get in return? You treat me like I'm a pest and insult my personality. I'm trying to give you a chance here Emily."

Emily sighed, she hadn't been thinking about how she was treating him, and hearing him say that really made her feel bad. She despised the feeling of guilt. "Fine."

He smiled, "Looking forward to it."
