It's been ten months since the Equality rule had been implemented in the city of Daccron. Colored people from all across the nation had been coming to the town of Graffield where they are being provided with homes and jobs opportunities.
The factories, fields and even the mines are filled with under paid workers who are striving to make a living in this tough new world. The houses of Graffield are almost filled with people making the mayor of Daccron one wealthy man with the none-stopping grants from the royal family.
Nowadays, Daccron city may appear to be the second most civilized city in the nation after the capital of course, with its surprising acceptability of the Equality Rule and the fast filling of Graffield town with content citizens. But mind you, the great people of Daccron has yet to be as accepting as they seem to be.
Yes, they may offer houses and jobs to these people but that doesn't mean they accept correlating with them in any mean. It's for the mere purpose of money and social statues.
All people of color had hopes of one day moving to the great land of Daccron where there was freedom and tolerance for the likes of them.
The Maliks like any other colored family had that same dream of moving to the town of Equality where they can come clean of their religion without fearing for their lives. And finally after months of saving up and having the courage to tell his master of his decision, Yaser Malik took his family of four and joined the other Muslim families in their journey to the land of Equality.
The large group of Muslims hitched on the shipping train from Levon to Graffield. The train ride was approximately two days making the ride hard and tiring since the train wasn't really equipped with beds or even seats. It was a shipping train that transferred goods or animals from one city to the other so the city found no need to spend money on making it comfortable in anyway. It wasn't like any one important would even ride in it.
"Are you sure they are going to provide us with houses? The money I have barely covers this trip." Gamal Asaad spoke with a faint voice. He didn't want his wife and kids who were sitting at the far end of the train to feel scared like he was. Gamal was an ambitious man. He strives for freedom since he was 16 but being a man of darker shade of skin he knew that was impossible until he heard of the Equality rule. He took the first chance of running away from his cruel master with his family and waited for the next group out of Levon town.
"Sheikh Mohammed assured me that there are houses provided. It's only free for the first month but that's more than enough time to find jobs." Yasser assured his long life friend. Yasser wasn't a risk taker like Gamal, on the contrary. He was a man of means and plans. He had prepared for this move since he heard of the land of Equality nine months ago and if it wasn't for his thorough planning for the unpredictable that is graffield he would have moved his family months ago with the first traveling group.
"In Sha' Allah we will manage. You know, it's a weird thing being finally free after all those years." Gamal smiled looking out through the large door opening in the middle of the train.
"Yeah, it is." Yaser mumbled. Being the realistic man that he was, he knew they were far from being free. Yes, they were no longer slaves but they were still at the bottom of the society. They were going to be working for the rich white man for the minimum wage which only god knows whether it was enough to get them by or not.
"Maybe in a few months we can actually save up and buy our own land. After all of those years of working for Master Elai's land, I can definitely invest my time and effort in my own land." Gamal had a distant look in his eyes. That look he always had when he dreamed of being free, being his own master but now that he was only inches away from achieving that dream he can almost taste it. Only a couple more months of hard labor work and saving up to reach it.
