Call incoming: Jake
I smiled widely at my boyfriends name appearing on my screen and answered it as quick as possible.
"Hey!"
Mumbled voices were heard and then he spoke, his voice raspy and pained.
"Erin"
"Jake? What's going on? Are you okay?" Worry laced my voice as I spoke into the receiver.
He breathed heavy.
"Ja-"
"Erin!" Luke spoke loudly.
"Sorry, what?"
"No point now"
I rolled my eyes at him.
"I'm going to the toilet" I stood up from my couch, me and Jake sat on multiple times, and headed to my bathroom. I didn't need to go, I just wanted to cry, even if it was for a few seconds.
His voice kept playing in my head, the pain in his voice and his struggled breathes making me uneasy.
I locked the door, sliding down it. It was disgusting but I didn't care at this moment.
I couldn't cry but I needed to, it just made my throat hurt and my breathing laboured.
Why him?
