Part Two
It's 10:45am and Sarah had arrived outside the green doors of the Rovers Return Inn. She sighed as she knocked onto the window so that either Michelle or Liz McDonald could let her into her work premises.Once she had knocked on, the green doors were suddenly opened by Michelle. Michelle is Steve McDonald's new wife, and they have been married for a short period of time. Steve has married several times in his 30 years at the heart of Coronation Street, but has never settled into married life until now.
"Morning Sarah", Michelle said, smiling. "Hiya", Sarah said, with a sad frown. Michelle rolled her eyes at Sarah as she closed the green doors behind her. "Come on, lets have it. What's up?", Michelle said. "Nothing", Sarah said. "Then try telling your face that", Michelle said. "Ok, I'll smile to the punters if that's the problem", Sarah said. "Not just that. You can talk to me. We work together don't we?", Michelle said. "Well this is home stuff, and personal..so", Sarah said. "Ah..okay", Michelle said.
Just then, Sarah walked towards the other side of the bar so that she could start her 6 hour shift.
The reason Sarah works those hours is because she has Bethany to attend to, and also, the hours are flexible for other colleagues that work within the Rovers Return Inn, who are Sean, Eva, Michelle & Liz. Everyone works within a rota system because of the staff availability.""I'll hoover, and you can polish the tables", Michelle said. "Yeah", Sarah said, arching an eyebrow. "You look kinda, different. Your eyes..", Michelle said. "Not been sleeping much", Sarah said quickly, looking down at the floor. "I wont ask why.", Michelle said. "Just, it all gets on top of me sometimes, you know how it is", Sarah said. "Course yeah. You haven't been yourself since.. You know.. Callum.", Michelle said. "I know. He's history. I've kinda slept with someone last night", Sarah said, smiling. "Ah sweet. You be careful. Life ain't that bad. You're a nice girl, so you deserve some sanity. Cheer up and be happy", Michelle said. "I suppose", Sarah said, putting on a brave face.
Elsewhere..
Alya came out of the bathroom and headed back downstairs. Yasmeen was sat around the dining table going through some ideas that had been suggested for Jamila House, which is the local community centre next to Roy's Rolls, as she saw Alya coming towards her. "Alya, come and sit with your gran and tell me what's wrong", she said, showing concern.
Yasmeen had noticed Alya's recent mood swings and wants to know what has been troubling her granddaughter. Alya has been wracked with guilt since she slept with the likes of local builder, Jason Grimshaw a few months back. She has deepest regret of what she did, and is worried that current lover Gary Windass will find out from Jason, but she knows inside that she needs to confront her problems. Alya spoke and said "I'll be alright. I'm just worried about the future. I don't want things to come between me and Gary" Then Yasmeen said "Like what?. You should be happy. You are aren't you?. That's all that should matter" Then Alya said "Yeah", with a light grin.
Alya couldn't face telling her gran the truth as it would break her, and she would be worried about the possible outcome if the news did spill about her infidelity. Suffocating with guilt and regret is something she brought upon herself, but to make it look like she's truly happy, Alya pushed forward her wedding to Gary for Christmas 🎅, but her secret isn't safe, as she had told Sinead Tinker about what she had done, but is Sinead one of those people sworn to secrecy?
One hour later...The green doors of the Rovers Return Inn had just opened, as punters and colleagues from local businesses were due to come for their regular lunch breaks. People either use the Rovers Return Inn, Nick's Bistro or Roy's Rolls during lunch, or maybe, depending on moods, a few regulars would use the local Fish 🐟 and Chips 🍟 shop, which is called For Your Fries Only, which stands at the rear of the Rovers Return via Rosamund Street.
Just as the green doors opened, Sarah was stood behind the bar waiting for punters to step inside the Rovers Return Inn. As she waited for punters, she placed her left hand onto one of the pumps that pours out the Newton & Ridley ale 🍺 to see that the hose has a small burst hole, causing a leak. As soon as she noticed the leak, she picked up the pump, and suddenly, the ale came splashing out fast, soaking her clothes. It was leaking everywhere..
Local mechanic Tyrone Dobbs stepped into the Rovers Return Inn and noticed the incident. "Sarah!. I'll grab the hose, you rush over and get my tool kit, quick!", Tyrone shouted as he rushed over and grabbed the hose. Just then, Sarah ran from behind the bar and headed out of the green doors of the Rovers Return Inn ontoon Street towards Webster's garage.
Everything Sarah touches or does at the moment turns to some kind of trauma or incident. It's almost a demon possessed. Over the way, things couldn't get any worse for Alya, as she thinks happiness of a Christmas 🎅 wedding would brighten things up, but she could be very wrong..
