Chapter 18

*Author's P.O.V*

"Let's start at the beginning. When was the first time you hit Niall? I want every detail that you can remember from your thoughts, feelings, and actions." Dr.Dixon says, leaning back in her chair.

"I mean how could I forget. It was the first time after all. It happen a month after Zayn was born. I had saw Niall chatting it up in the morning with a new neighbor when he went to get the mail. The girl was perfect in all the right places and it didn't help that she looked like she gets any guy she wants. Niall was just being his charmful self but the girl was clearly flirting with him and he looked like he didn't mind it. When he got back inside, I slapped him really fucking hard at least twice. Me and him were both shock that it happen. He apologize and I did as well and the rest is history." Harry explains with a shrug.

"Now I want you to give me a summary of the abuse every since then." She states, turning a page in her notebook.

"Well it doesn't take a genius to know that it got worse from there. I hit him for the stupidest reasons. I punched him for letting a fan get away with groping him, not defending me when me and my neighbors got into an argument, coming home with a lovebite that turn out to be a burn from a movie he did, not defending our marriage when the media claimed that he was leaving me for his ex, and many more. Just recently he got back in contact with his ex to help her with family issues and I thought he cheated on me with her so I kicked him in the head. That was the worse I've ever felt. He just explained himself then proceeded to take care of me as if nothing ever happened." Harry says, picking at his nails.

"It may not be true but it seems to me that the root of your abuse is that you fear Niall may end up randomly deciding to leave you for someone else or in general. It'll hurt you too much since you grew a family together and are in the spotlight." She suggests, clicking her pen a few times.

She's completely right. That is all Harry can think of at the moment. There is no other explanation for it. It upsets him how perfect his husband is that everyone wants him. It's just too much for him to try and fight everyone away from him. He knows that he should learn to ignore it since people look at him too but he just can't help himself. He wants everyone to understand that his husband will never leave him and their family. These thoughts become too much for him as he starts to feel a tightness in his chest. He asks for a quick break, which his therapist gives to him without question. She knows that he is revealing a lot of information that could hurt a lot of people and it's overwhelming him. She can't ever be annoyed or upset at him for that. He gives her a nod to signal a thank you.

He gets out of his seat then leaves the room with a deep sigh. He makes his way to the bathroom quickly. He avoids eye contact with the few people he passes. A few of them knows who he is but doesn't say anything due to his body language. He is very much grateful for that. The moment he enters he goes over to the window then opens it. The fresh air calms him down a little making him able to think clearly. He then goes over to the sink to splash some water on his face. The door to the bathroom opens as he uses a paper towel to dry his face off. The male enters the stall while another comes out of a stall. Harry waits until he leaves to look at his hands. The same hands that have done so much damage to his significant other. He makes his hands into fists as he looks at his reflection in the mirror.

He knows his parents would be so disappointed in him if they find about this abuse. They have never raised him to behave such a way. He's never been the violent type. Even when certain situations prompt him to act violent, he never did. He doesn't like physically, mentally, or emotionally hurting people yet here he is doing all those things to his husband. The one person that has never done anything wrong to him or anyone else in his life. When he feels that he is ready to continue with the session, he exits the bathroom. He shakes his hands to get rid of any remaining doubt or anxiety. When he enters the room, he goes to his seat while avoiding eye contact with Dr.Dixon.

The session goes on with Dr.Dixon giving her client advice about really valuing what he has now ends and to really think before he acts. Harry thanks her then gives her a handshake just as their session comes to an end. He is currently making his way out of the building feeling somewhat better. He takes out his car keys while sending out a text message to his husband that reads he is coming home. His gets a response from him instantly as a bright flash makes him squint his eyes. A long sigh leaves his month at the male paparazzi that makes himself known. He just knows that he is about to ask him a bunch of stupid and offensive questions. It's what they all do every time they see him.

"Are you and Niall seeking counseling since you came out of this therapy building?" The paparazzi questions, snapping pictures of the building."Why isn't Niall with you?"

"Can I just get to my car please?" Harry asks, putting a hand up to cover his face so he can't tell that he's been crying.

"Sure but why won't you answer my questions?" He asks while moving to the taller male's other side to get a better view."Do you have a drug issue or alcohol issue that's why you're here?"

"Have a nice day mate." Harry states before getting in his car then driving away quickly.

He makes multiple turns to ensure that paparazzi doesn't follow him home. Once he is sure that he is in the clear, he starts to take the main road home. He stops at a red light, which gives him some time to think. The more he does this the angrier he gets because he's allowing someone like that pap to get under his skin. He makes his hands into fists before he starts to repeatedly hit his steering wheel. A frustrated scream comes from him after he stops. Just as that happens, the light turns green and he drives as if nothing ever happen. He makes it home faster than expected since he was driving a little over the speed limit. He parks the car then gets out of it. He makes it over to the front door and before he can unlock it his husband opens the door then pulls him into a tight hug. A smile instantly finds a way on his face with his body relaxing.
