"So I was thinking, if you're free next weekend, that you, me, Jasper, and Jack could head to this cool maze I found in New Jers- Sara, would you please calm down." Jane gave her signature 'Suck it up.' look to the girl next to her.
She had just gotten her new driver's license; and decided out of the blue to take her and Sara-Beth on a "relaxing drive through the country". This involved her speeding down the twisty woodland road at an alarmingly fast rate. Usually Sara wouldn't mind this either, she typically loved fast things, but she always had a bad feeling I the pit of her stomach when they were in the woods. It just felt unsafe.
The girl with wide eyes wasn't paying attention to her friend though; but to one of her personalities, they were really bad at keeping her focused on the outside world. She never minded though, some of her personalities helped her out a lot, and the outside world was never that appealing anyways.
Carmen, Sara-Beth's favorite personality, was always someone she could talk to. Even though Carmen was in her head, she still listened intently to everything that Sara had to say. Then Carmen would tell her what she thought the best solution was, and she was usually right with her predictions. She would compliment Sara when she was upset, calm her down when she was flustered, and make her happy when she was angry. She was basically a carbon copy of Jane; all be it a little more sensible.
Salem was, weird, to say the least. He was more of the jokester part of the personalities. He was always there to make people laugh, including Sara. Whenever you went to parties, he would always take charge and warm things up for you. Even though he was crazy, he always had her best interest at heart.
And then there was Amara. Sara HATED Amara with a fiery passion. Even though she was incredibly wise; she was also incredibly deceitful. Sara would have a lot a lot more friends if she wasn't always the one to make the first impression. She was mean, rude, and quick to judge; and it quickly lead to many people hating her. That is, if they weren't off-put by her quiet personality.
Multiple Personality Disorder and A.D.D. A wonderful duo of disorders that make it extremely easy to be labeled as different. And to be bullied for it just as hard. That was why she was so apprieciative of Jane, Jasper, and Jack; there were always there to keep them off of her. But even if she was "normal" and with her makeshift bodyguards, socializing still would had no appeal. To Sara, talking to people was more of a chore than a pastime. It's no that she despised it, she just, preferred not to do it. But she guessed the world had something else planned for her, cramming three other people into her skull.
"SARA!" She snapped out of her conversation with Salem about how she thought last week's assembly went. She looked down at her hands to see that her knuckles had turned into a pale ghostly color due to hard she was gripping the seat and the emergency handle. She loosened her grip and looked up to see Jane's concerned face.
"Bro, do you really want me to slow down that bad?" She asked, her voice low and soft in a sympathetic fashion. Sara smiled an awkward smile that clearly showed she would love to have the request complied to. Jane sighed as she tried to slow the car down.
And then that's when it happened.
