For once in her life; Sara-Beth didn't give a damn about what people thought about her. Her life was at an all time high. Her stuttering was starting to go down to a minimum, Amara was being unusually nice to her, and her mom apparently had some fantastic news to tell her when she came down for dinner. When she had asked if Zachary wanted to join them; he said he would as soon as he finished something for his family. That was what Sara was currently doing; waiting for Zachary to walk through the of the front door.
She had told her therapists about what happened a few months ago, along with her parents, and she begged them not to tell Sierra. They respected her wishes, but they cleaned out her room to take out any potentially dangerous objects and they refused to let her go out without either them, Zach, or Jake and Jasper. They spent much more time with her, but she was happy about it. They were worried for her, she couldn't have expected a different reaction than what had happened, from her parents or her therapists. She was placed on a watch list, but she was still treated as normally as she could be given the situation and she was appreciative for that.
"Bethy?" Sierra walked up next to Sara-Beth and stood, imitating her movements and staring at the door with her.
"Yeah?" She asked the child next of her.
"What're you doing?"
"W-waiting for Zachary to c-come over."
"Can I wait with you?"
"S-sure baby girl."She said as she went to sit at the top of the step with Sierra plopping beside her a soon after. And after the eight-year-old squirmed into a comfortable, they began to wait.
"When did he say he was gonna get here?" Sierra asked after the sister had waited for a few minutes. Sara-Beth turned her head towards the upstairs clock and looked a the time. It was 6:07, Zach said he would be here at around 6:30 so...... 23 minutes.
"A little more th-than 20 minutes from now," Sara smiled at her sister as she told her this.
'This is stupid.' Amara somehow shouted.
'It is not stupid' Salem argued.
'We're waiting for this dude like a fucking Chihuahua.' She argued back. Salem was silent for a few seconds before responding.
'Okay, yeah it's stupid.'
"Could you play on the piano while we wait?" Sara looked back at the clock before turning back to her sister, unaware that she was interrupting an argument.
"Sure, we have time," She made her way to her room with Sierra following swiftly behind her. "It kinda felt stupid waiting anyway." The girls both chuckled as they went to Sara-Beth's room.
"Well, the walls are still blue. Good to know they didn't change." She looked down at her sister expecting her to laugh, but she was only met with a confused face accompanied with a slight head tilt.
"It's a joke." Sierra remained silent. "It was just like a little joke type- You know what? Forget it I forgot you were eight."
"Sounds good." Sierra said happily.
Sara smiled at her sister as she turned the keyboard on. She brushed her fingers against the keys causing a random assortment of notes and sounds to pour out of the speakers.
