After the school day was over, the professor planned to head out to Kyoto garden to meet up with Emmy, but was held up by Rosetta. A very enthusiastic student of his, Rosetta tended to stay back after classes to talk to the professor. She had a crush, it was obvious, but it never worked out for her.

"So, professor, what do you think of my plan? Do you think I should go for the topic as a whole, or just focus on one part, hmm?"

She sounded overeager.

"Well, Rosetta, you should decide which way to do it. I don't mind, so whatever is easier for you is just fine." Hershel answered her without looking up from the pile of papers he would have to correct later that day. He was sorting them quickly, so he could get the job done faster later.

"Yes, but I don't know which will be easier, you see. I'm not amazing with detail, but I don't want it to be too wide, if you know what I mean."

"Well then, speaking as you teacher, I suggest you go for the whole thing. It may not be easy for you to do the one part if you aren't great with detail."

"Alright then, I'll do that. Thanks again, professor!" She giggled and turned, almost skipping out the door. She bumped into Flora outside, who was just coming in, and then gave her a hard stare. Flora may be much younger, but she was always interrupting Rosetta's time with the professor.

Flora came into the archeology classroom and Hershel sighed.

"So... Are we going to the Kyoto garden?" Flora asked in anticipation.

"But of course! I can't deny an old friend's request, no matter the circumstances!"

Hershel felt strange saying this though. He did feel like it was his duty to help Emmy in her time of need, but he also felt like it was one of the last things he would have thought to do on his own. Losing Claire for the second time had broken his heart, and Luke leaving so soon after... Now he was going to have to revisit more old memories of his adventures with Emmy, and more heartache was sure to come with it. Of course, Emmy was going to be in a state of heartbreak as well, after losing her friend and now turning back to the people she had betrayed... But Hershel couldn't bare to think on it all now. There would be time to talk more freely about it when they were at the garden.

Hershel and Flora got out of the laytonmobile outside Holland park and walked the remaining distance to the garden. The gardens themselves were beautiful. Luscious greenery thrived all around the gravel paths, and a small lake lay to one side. With not too many people, the place was peaceful and quiet. Hershel understood why Emmy would spend so much time here, it would be a very good place to relive memories.

"Now Flora, look out for a young woman with dark brown hair, and I'll let you know if I see her." Hershel instructed.

He glanced around the whole park quickly. There was no sight of Emmy's usual yellow clothing, this could be harder than expected. She might not even be here at all.
