Comets's eyes become wide and scared. She backed up and ran forward. She launched herself through the hole. "I'm coming, Ashy!" She screams into the air. She landed on something soft, which she thinks is just grass, until it talks.
"Would you PLEASE get off, you huge fuzzball!" Comet rolled off, giggling, her cream fur becoming spotted with blades of grass. Comet stood and shook her fur, making all the grass on her pelt fly off. She stopped shaking her fur in a few seconds. She turned her body South, looking towards the den. Comets eyes drift from the den to the forest behind it. She didn't notice it, but a breeze was suddenly making Comet's fur and tail sway and twirl like waves on the ocean surface.
As Comet stared into the depths of the forest, Ash stared at her with a small smile. Comet hadn't known, but Ash had been in love with her for six moons now. They were both eight moons old. "Ashy?"
Ash tilted his head to the right a little bit, giving Comet a questioning look. "Yes, Comet?"
Comet heaved a huge sigh. "I want to go into the... f-forest." Comet's eyes showed nothing but determination, though Ash thought, for just a heartbeat, he could see fear flash through her eyes. Ash's eyes filled with doubt, but he quickly replaced it with the same determination. Ash flicked his tail-tip in agreement. He wanted to go into the forest as well, and yet, he still wanted to jump back into the warmth and safety of their housefolk's den.
"Well... are we going or are you going to stare at it like it's going to pad over to you?" Ash teased impatiently. Comet grumbled and got to her paws. She started to pad forward through the alley way. Ash followed, jumping as a shriek from a mouse sounded somewhere up ahead. Ash gulped.
"If you're going to be scared, you might as well turn back and go home." Comet mewed, turning her head back slightly so she could see Ash out of the corner of her eye. " I've watched you jump at every slight movement and sound. I'm just afraid you won't be tough enough out there." She gestured toward the forest with her ears. Ash walked forward to stand next to Comet and puffed out his chest. Comet giggled at the sight, her ear tips turning slightly red. Ash had started to pad ahead, so Comet picked up her pace and started to pad along side Ash.
