"Your insane!" The man screamed trying to crawl away from the hooded figure. "We're all a little insane, I just happen to have an extra dose more than other people." The person chuckled stepping out of the shadows towards the cowering man. A gasp of disbeleif escaped the man as he could now clearly see a young woman. "Are you truely surprised? I told you what I was when we first met." She laughed as the man kept trying to crawl away, only a few seconds later the sound of a gun shot could be heard. A few people were curious but none dared to venture down into the dark ally, after all one could never tell what lurks in the shadows. The woman smiled as the blood trickled out of the bullet hole in the man's forehead. Licking some of his blood off her finger she spat it out quickly muttering about the horrid taste. "His blood was too tainted" she huffed kicking the lifeless body and walking towards the exit of the ally. Walking down the street people went out of their way just to avoid being near her, she looked scary as heck with ash colored skin, long black hair, and her ever watchful eyes with irises so dark they could be black. "Pathetic mortals" she sighed making a bee line for a local park.
Sitting on one of the swings she watched children play and their mothers chat close bye, how can they seem so happy when terror is right around the corner? Or in this case sitting on the same playground as those ever so precious children. It's true she's eaten a few children but they were already almost dead so she just saved them from the pain they were going through, though it still ate away at her when she could hear the cries of the parents afterwards. It's not that she had a heart or even a soul for that matter, it was her job as a reaper to take care of her job and move on. The life of a reaper was both fun and miserable, she got to kill all the evil people who were due for judgment but at the same time she had to kill all those who were just ready to go. There were a few times she considered not killing a few people but in the end she did out of pity, like the young girl who was hit by a car and laid dying in the middle of the road. The girl was terrified of dying but didn't want to suffer either, it took a while but she managed to talk the girl into leaving this world for the next one.
Older people were normally overjoyed to see her when she visited their hospital bed, they would willingly come after a few teary goodbyes to their loved ones. As a reaper you weren't visible to people when you were about to reap but otherwise people could normally see you. The woman snapped out of her pity party when a young boy who was running past her fell and scraped his chin, he started to cry and his mother came running to his aid. She silently watched the mother comfort her son and walk away, "I wonder what its like?" She whispered looking from the mother and her son to her own two ashen hands. Never having felt the warmth of a loving touch she looked longingly at the other kids who's mothers were gathering them to go home, if at all possible she would love to at least one feel something other than pity.
Getting up off the swing she started to walk home, the sun was setting and the people were scurrying to their respective residences. Time seemed to slow down as she watched a young boy get pushed out into the road by an older boy, last time she checked there wasn't a scheduled death yet. Not loosing another second she dashed out into the road and pulled him away from the swerving car. Her inhuman speed made it look like he had never even fallen, she glared at the older boy who had pushed the younger. His mouth was gaping and small red glow emitted from his chest, "looks like you've upset the wrong person" she whispered. "Get lost girly, who gave you the right to save him anyway?" he hissed grabbing the younger boy by his shirt collar. "You better watch your mouth, you wouldn't want to upset someone who's already insane do you?" She laughed a smirk making its way onto her lips. He just flipped her the bird and started to walk away.
"Wrong choice" she laughed using her reaper speed to grab him and pull him into a close alleyway without causing a scene. The once faint glow was now bright like a target just screaming "hit me! Hit me!" Because she really wanted to make him pay she fully transformed into her reaper form, to be honest it was terrifying. Her eyes went completely white and her normal clothes changed into a long black dress, her scythe had a long black handle and silver blade that reflected the fear of her prey. "Get away!" The boy screamed trying to get up and run away. "Didn't I give you fair warning of what was to come?" She asked darkly watching in amusement as he tried to scramble away. "Enough!" A loud male voice echoed through the ally, an angel ascended in front of the reaper who looked less than pleased.
"Why? I was given the order to reap." The angel nodded "indeed you were but the plan has changed, congratulations you've been upgraded to guardian angel!" He stood there smiling . "No" was the only word she could utter. The angel looked confused for a second but regained his happy go lucky attitude, "don't be like that, besides you already know the boy you've been assigned to!" 'No way in heck they've assigned me to that wimp!' she thought with disbelief. "That's right!" The angel pulled the boy from earlier out of nowhere and set him right in front of her. "Since his last guardian angel fell and you saved him even though you aren't even an angel you've been promoted to be his guardian!" In a bright poof of cloud stuff her appearance was instantly changed. She now had long white hair, light brown eyes, and a white sun dress. "Wow" all the males said at the same time making her blush and throw a sandal at the one she was supposed to kill.
Now who's going to take him?!" She screamed pointing at the boy who now was rubbing his face where the sandal hit him. "Wellll...." the angel drawled. In a dark grey puff of smoke yet another male appeared. "ay what's up?" He asked doing the universal head nod of hello, he eyed up the girl who threw her other sandal at him. "Pervs"she growled turning up her nose. "Well this is awkward so I'm going to leave now! By the way he's now the new reaper who's taking your place!" The angel said rubbing his neck and ascending out of their sight. "Now that he's gone my name is Ayato" the new reaper said extending his hand. "I'm Clover the new guardian" she said cautiously shaking his hand, "you should probably find him again." She said pointing to where her previous victim had been laying, he had fled in the heat of the moment when he saw the chance to escape. "Yea guess I should" Ayato sighed, "see you soon Clover!" He yelled disappearing into the shadows to hunt down his reaping.
"So should we go or something?" Clover looked back to see the young boy standing there awkwardly. "Let's go home, to your house since I don't exactly think you want to go to mine." He gave her a confused look "why wouldn't I like your house?" She smiled "I lived with other reapers" he gave an understanding nod and lead her to his house. They walked together unaware of danger that had escaped and was now following them. "So your name is Clover then? Well Clover prepare to suffer a fate worse then death." The shadow figure laughed melding once again with the darkness.
