Grace p.o.v

Mackenzie and I didn't work out. It turns out people aren't always what they say they are. It really hurts because we had been best friends for so long, then she betrayed me. Have you ever trusted someone with your heart and had them destroy it? Yeah that happened to me. I fell into depression because I was stupid enough to think our friendship meant something to her. Then, I met Summer. She is really the best thing I could hope for along with Annie.

There is only one problem: summer is obsessed with Brad, in fact I'm pretty sure she thinks she loves him. I know she doesn't though.

No one would love Brad as much as I love him. He and I go way back. We met in year 9 and one of my friends at the time, Mona was really in love with him so she made me get close to him so she could get close to him. I got too close to him.

I think I've loved him since then and sometimes he does things to make me think he loves me too but then... I don't know.

Brad p.o.v

I looked up at swimming practise today to see Grace watching me form the bleachers. I won that race.

'You came.' I said with a smile splitting my face and attacked her with a hug. I held back a sigh as I felt her hesitantly wrap her arms around me. Suddenly conscious of my wet state, I pulled back.

'Of course I came. Don't I always?' she said with a glint in her eyes.

"No." I deadpanned.

'Okay. Jeez I came today, can't you just be happy with that?' Her voice came out angry but I saw the laugher in her eyes. I responded to that.

'Come on or we'll be late.' I nodded and hurried off to change. I didn't want to leave her waiting.

Summer p.o.v

'Then he leaned over me in geography and I could smell him. It was sooo romantic.' I said and watched Grace smile in response. I was about to say more but then froze as I saw Brad walk past. He winked in our direction and I almost died, I swear.

'oh there's Annie! Hey Annie.' I waved at Annie as Grace pointed her out and we walked in her direction.

'I was put in the same group as Brad toda-'I continued but was cut off by Grace.

'I umm I have to go do some work.' I just stared at her. She looked slightly sick.

'Are you okay?' I asked but then turned around and saw Brad hugging the school slut, Midge and almost chocked. When I looked back, Grace had disappeared.

Brad p.o.v

I peeled myself away from Midge and regretfully watched Grace walk away. I knew where she was going to be though, so I followed her. It's time to tell her about Midge.

Grace p.o.v

'Hey' I looked up from my book at the sound of his voice and almost immediately smiled.

'Hi' I said back softly. He plopped unto the couch beside me and leaned over putting his arm around me and pulling me towards his side. I felt my heart beat triple but then remembered Midge and pulled away, the smile slipping from my face. I heard him sigh.

'Hey, hey, hey!' he tried again reaching his arms out to tickle me. He had me laughing in seconds and squirming on the ground, my laughs coming out in donkey language. When I looked up I saw him smiling at me then he said, 'there's the smile I was looking for.'

It was moments like this I thought he loved me too.
