Grace p.o.v
I was left speechless for a moment and simply stared at him before regaining my words and let out a small laugh, 'you've never said that to me before.' He looked genuinely surprised. 'Never!' he exclaimed, 'I must be a terrible boyfriend then!' I could feel myself blushing even though I knew it would not show. 'We umm, we aren't dating.' I almost regretted saying it when I saw how astonished he looked: like someone had stolen the clothes of his back and he was just now realising.
'Why...why not?'
'Well you never asked me.' This was turning into a very awkward conversation.
'Why?'
'I don't know'
'But all my memories of you...I've loved you since... well, since the first day I saw you. That's why I remember you. The doctor said, you're a cherished memory.'
To put it plainly, I was shocked. I watched awed as he sat up and pulled me to him with strength I didn't know he possessed. He smiled as my surprise made me land on him with my face just inches from his. I struggled to sit up and move away but he held me in place. 'It seems,' he continued, 'if your hot ears are any indication that you feel the same way.'
I was looking down at this point and he used his finger to lift my chin so I was looking into his deep blue eyes, drowning. How ironic. 'So, Grace will you go out with me?' I almost started laughing again but his eyes were so sincere and intense that I just nodded and let him move slowly forward and kiss me.
