Okay, maybe not the best gut instinct, but hey. I was a compulsive person, and if my friends were jumping, I sure as hell was jumping with them.
Flying through the air with only a parachute on was not my idea of fun. To inspire us, our escape pod hurtled down in front of us, quickly being torn apart. As I dodged pieces of our turrets, I watched Kay get smacked sideways by a huge metal piece, and she hurtled out of view, screaming curses.
Abby was about 10 feet away, flipping randomly, trying to right herself.
I, on the other hand, was hanging onto my parachute.
The clip that attached the parachute to me? It ripped, so I was attempting to hold onto the straps for dear life - not an easy feat when you're dodging pieces of metal frantically.
As we continued plummeting like rocks, I was vaguely aware of Kay swerving back into view before being swept aside by a gust of wind, Abby struggling to control herself, and then suddenly, they stopped moving downwards.
Okay, that was an exaggeration.
Still, they had pulled their parachutes, which left me flying down to the Earth. Panicking, I yanked on the strap that was supposed to let out my parachute.
Naturally it failed.
I kept on pulling on the strap, in some desperate hope that the bag would just... open, but no luck.
As a last resort, I pulled out a knife, and stabbed the bag violently, hoping that the parachute would fall out.
And it actually did!!
Something worked for me. I felt myself gliding slowly to the ground, and I was aware of my friends above me, also floating gently to the ground. I quickly took note of what we had.
Nothing.
I sighed, and stumbled to a landing in the field that we had aimed for, promptly faceplanting in the dirt.
"Smooth, Nielsen!" Kay shouted from above, wearing a smirk.
"Oh shut up." I said back, standing up and cutting myself free from the parachute, watching as Kay touched down, pulling out a pistol from her waistband just in case. I took out my knife and gestured for Abby to land. She did.
"So, what do you guys have?" I said cheerfully, glancing at them and looking at my own possessions.
"Well, I got a pistol." Kay said, and Abby nodded.
"Machete." She said and I groaned.
"We are so fucked." I said under my breath, and the brush moved suddenly, and the sound of helicopters surrounded us.
"Don't you dare move." A voice warned from one of the helicopters, and a light shone over us, blinding me.
The next thing I knew I was in the back of a van, my hands tied behind my back, and Kay cursing wildly.

"Is she gonna shut up?" A female voice came from the front, sounding highly annoyed.
"Jayden, calm down." A tired male voice came from the front as well. "We're nearly there."
"Thank god." Jayden muttered under her breath, and the car skidded to a stop.
"ID's?" A gruff male voice over a radio said.
There seemed to be a shuffling from the front, and the gates opened a creak.
"Jayden and Collin!" A overly excited voice said and we zoomed right past them, into the side of a mountain.
The door opened, and I yelped as I was tossed to the ground harshly.
"Well, if this is what they had on the Odysseus, I ain't that surprised that thing went down." a voice piped up from the side.
"Liam, shut up!" Another girl said indignantly, and Liam rolled his eyes, walking towards us, and hoisting me up easily, and tossing me into another room, with Kay and Abby stumbling in after me.
"I'm going to cut off your ropes. If you try to attack I'll have you against the wall, with your arm broken in less than a second. Understand?" Jayden said calmly, walking into the room, and cutting the ropes on us quickly.
"So, Odysseus?" Jayden asked seemingly innocently.
Kay narrowed her eyes slightly. "What do you want to know?"
"How it went down. But save it for th-"
"Leader." Liam finished. "Come on. Jayden, I got it." He said, dragging us away, and we came to an office.
Naturally, he had to shove me in. I stumbled, and looked up, feeling my cheeks heat up. A bunch of people were standing at the front table, looking serious.
"For fucks sake, loosen up people!" Liam shouted, and a girl face-palmed in the front.
"So," a man said, ignoring Liam's comment "Tell us everything."
(A/N this is a filler chapter sorry!)
