*Luca's POV*
Phone? Check
Pencils? Check
Backpack? Check
Underwear? Check.
Wait.......... Yeah. Check.
"Luca! Hurry up! Your going to be late for your first day of school!" I heard my mum shout from downstairs.
"Coming mum!" I yelled back from in front of my full length mirror. I shook my head back and forth, making my black hair into my signature stylishly messy look. My tight black t-shirt and skinny jeans was pretty much my favorite combination.
What? I like plain.
I grabbed the silver chain that was around my neck, and held the white cross with the blue stone in the middle. The blue matched my eyes perfectly, and I wore the necklace every day.
It was the present my dad was getting the day he died.
"LUCA! YOUR GOING TO BE LATE!"
"I SAID IM COMING MA!" I yelled back, rolling my eyes.
"Well. Lets get this over with." I said to myself, and slung my bookbag over my shoulder.
Dear God help me.
Well, pretty normal looking school. Deep breath. Ok, I'm ready.
I walked down the sidewalk that led to
Jakeston High. Weird name, right? Yeah. Wonder where the jocks are? Maybe I should look for them. I'll probably fit in best with that group.
"Hey man! You new here?" I heard a booming voice behind me, and a large hand slammed into the middle of my back. Well, it would be big to anyone else, but not so much for me. I'm a pretty tall dude.
I turned around, and saw a guy with shaggy blonde hair, and a muscular build. He came exactly eye-to-eye with me, and looked like he owned the whole school. He had this huge gang behind him. Not unusual. I'm guessing THESE are the jocks.
"Yeah, I'm new here. What's it to you?" I said, adjusting my black backpack.
"Oh, aren't afraid to speak your mind, are ya?" He said.
"Nope. Not at all. Especially to people like you" I shot back. He surprised me by laughing loudly.
"Your cool, man" he said, and held out his hand. "I'm Jake"
"Don't tell me this school is named after you" I said, taking his hand, pulling him in and slapping his back.
"You got a strong arm, dude!" He said, nodding approvingly. I shrugged.
"So really, is this school named after you or what? Cause I would kinda be freaked out if it was" I said as I started walking down the walkway to the school's entrance, Jake at my side and his little posse trailing behind.
"Nah man, that's my father. I'm Jake Jr." He said snorting. "Yeah, I'd be pretty freaked out too if it were named after me" I chuckled.
"I'm Luca by the way" I said.
"Cool name. So your British?" He said as we pushed through the school's wooden doors.
"Yeah, just moved here coupl'a weeks ago, actually"
"So were you part of the popular crowd?"
"Yeah, I guess you could say that" I smirked.
"I thought you would have been. You look like you belong with the jocks. You play football?"
"Nah, I'm better playing with my arms than my feet."
"That's what you use to play football with...oh! That's right, your British. Your soccer is like our football and vise versa. That's right. Sorry."
"S'okay, mate. I'll get used to it eventually." I said, laughing.
"You need to go to the principle, right? To check in and get your schedule?"
"Ah, yeah. I forgot the blasted thing already! Mum told me about 7 times before I even left the house!"
"Wow. She sounds like a perfectionist. Anyway, want me to show you to the principles office?"
"Sure. Thanks"
"No problem" Jake said in a horrible impersonation of a British accent. I punched his arm.
"Don't make fun of me!" I said.
"Sorry, mate!" He said. I glared at him. He laughed, holding his hands up in mock surrender.
"Alright, alright! Sorry- hold on. I can't pass this up. This will only take a sec" he said as his facial expression changed to a menacing smirk. He straightened up, so he towered over everyone, putting them in his shadow. I followed Jake as he marched up to a small figure that was desperately trying to keep several books from avalanching out of her locker.
"Hey termite. Why don't you look at me when I'm talking to you" he sneered, and shoved the small girl so she fell backwards to the ground, her books tumbling out of her locker. The girl pushed the hair out of her face, and looked up at Jake. I swear, my eyes bulged out of my head.
Ally.
