Maka's POV

It's been three hours since all the meisters in her class and Maka herself, arrived at the airport, and it hasn't been anything except a pain in the ass.

Why? Because of Black Star, of course.

"I AM TOO GODLY TO HAVE TO WAIT FOR THREE HOURS FOR OUR PLANE TO ARRIVE, WE SHOULD JUST USE A JET!"

"Black Star," Kidd began, taking in the annoyed glares coming from everyone who was unfortunately within hearing distance of his voice.

"I DEMAND WE TAKE A DIFFERENT PLANE—!"

"Black Star," he tried again.

"YOU THERE!" Black Star suddenly pointed at a passing employee. Said employee froze and cringed at the loud and boisterous voice. "GO PREPARE A—" Suddenly he fell backwards as a book flew through the air and smacked him right in the face. He stayed down on the floor for a moment before raising a hand into the air, giving a thumbs up. "S-Sorry, Maka..."

She walked over to him and picked up her ammunition, glaring down at him. "You're a moron, you know that? I will never understand how Tsubaki can stand to deal with you, let alone live with you."

"I'll never understand how Soul could have f—"

"That's enough, Black Star," Kidd interrupted.

"Could have what, Black Star?"

"Just ignore him, Maka," Kidd intercepted. She stared at both of them, confused as to why Kidd felt the need to keep Black Star from saying what he was about to say. Then she shook her head and rolled my eyes. Men.

"Alright everyone, if I may have your attention?" Stein seemed to have suddenly appeared out of nowhere—no matter how many times he does it, it will always be somewhat unnerving—and was standing on one of the benches. The people sitting on either side of him gave him an annoyed expression, but otherwise remained seated and silent.

"Professor, weren't we supposed to have left on our flight three hours ago?" Kidd asked.

"Yeah, what's the big deal? A God has better things to do than sit around waiting for a plane that won't ever come!" Black Star crossed his arms and huffed irritatedly.

"That, boys, is the issue I am about to address. Unfortunately, our plane ended up being delayed at its last stop and is on its way as we speak. However, we will not be leaving today—" a chorus of groans interrupted his speech, and he chuckled in amusement. "Yes, I know, and I apologize for the unexpected occurrence. However, the reason we are not leaving today is because the flight that left at the time we were supposed to be leaving has suddenly gone missing, so I'm postponing this trip. You all may go home, and Lord Death will let everyone know individually when the new date for our trip has been solidified. Dismissed!"

She stood in her spot in fear, not paying any attention to the people around her. Go home? I can't do that! Not now! Not after I kissed Soul! How humiliating...

"Are you alright Maka?" She jumped slightly, startled when she felt a hand touch her shoulder. She looked to her right and saw Kidd giving her a concerned expression. Black Star was behind him, looking confused at her behavior.

"Y-Yeah, I'm fine! Sorry, was zoning out for a moment."

"Whatever, you need a ride back to your apartment?" Black Star asked.

She hesitated, but nodded and forced a smile. "I'd appreciate it, thanks."

When the cab with the three of them arrived at her apartment, she got out quickly and waved goodbye. When it drove away, she stood outside of the building, staring up at Soul's window. She stayed outside for about ten minutes before she finally mustered up the courage to go inside.

When she arrived at the door to their apartment, she thought about ways to explain what happened earlier this morning. Should I say it was a mistake? Or should I be honest about how I feel...? Ugh, why is this so hard?!

She took a deep breath and reached for the doorknob, but before she could even touch it, the door swung open, and Soul was standing there, looking terribly frazzled.

They stood staring at each other for a moment before he broke the silence. "I'm not seeing things, right? You...you're actually here? A-And not on a plane?"

She nodded slowly, her eyes never leaving his. "Y-Yeah? My fl-whoa!"

Maka was suddenly pulled towards him, hugged to his chest. "Thank Death," she heard him whisper into her hair. She remained unmoving, confused. What's his deal all of a sudden...?

Before she could say anything, however, she was dragged inside, immediately hearing the door slam. She looked at him and noticed that he no longer looked relieved or frazzled, but angry. "Sit," he ordered, pointing to the couch. She nodded and walked over to the couch, extremely aware of how close behind her he was as he followed. He remained standing to the side when she sat down, but he didn't stop glaring at her the entire time. "Explain," he commanded.

She scowled at him. "I don't have to take orders from you—"

"Does it look like I care?"

She grumbled in annoyance, but began to do as he said anyway. "When we arrived at the airport, we ended up waiting for three hours, unaware that our plane was delayed at its last location. Stein announced this and said that the plane that left at the time we were supposed to leave turned up missing, and said that he was postponing the trip on a later date." She stared up at him and noticed his annoyed expression. She sighed. "What? I did what you asked me to."

He snorted. "While it's comforting to know that I didn't end up going to Lord Death asking about your missing flight since it apparently wasn't missing in the first place, that's not what wanted you to explain. I was talking about that little stunt you pulled earlier this morning."

She blushed. "Oh. That."

"Yes, that."

She stared at her hands as she fiddled with her fingers. "W-Well, um..."

"Hurry up, just thinking about it is giving me another headache."

She whipped her head to him and glared, standing up and starting to walk to her room. "I'm not gonna take orders from you anymore today-Soul what are you doing."

She was suddenly pinned to the wall outside her room, her wrists trapped in one of his hands while his other hand was next to her head. She blushed at his close proximity—she could feel his breath hit her face.

"Why did you just leave like that after kissing me? Do you have any idea what it did to me?"

"I'm gonna assume it disgusted you."

He squinted at her in confusion. "That's...quite an assumption, but—"

"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done it, I just...I thought that maybe-maybe you felt the same way? I don't know what I was thinking—"

"Felt the same way? And how do you feel exactly?"

"Wh-! I'm not answering that!"

He smirked. He's smirking. Why is he smirking?! "And why not?"

"B-Because! I consider this an invasion of privacy, you know!"

"Like you have room to talk! You kissed me!"

"S-So?!"

"So," he said, his smirk widening, "I think it's only fair to return the favor."

"Return the favor? What on earth are yo-mmm!"

And just like that, he was kissing her.
